We had the pleasure of chatting with Annie about her journey as an author, her inspiration, and what readers can expect from her new book.

A Lifelong Passion for Writing

Annie’s love for writing began at a young age.

I’ve been writing since forever,” she recalls. “I remember writing my first real book at the age of twelve.”

This early passion laid the foundation for what would become a prolific writing career.

The Birth of a Werewolf Author

Interestingly, Annie’s venture into the werewolf genre began as a dare.

During COVID, my college roommate and I were reading werewolf novels one night,” she shares. “We dared each other to write a werewolf book and see who could get more reads. My book went viral, which I did not expect, but I’m so grateful for it.

This unexpected success turned her hobby into a full-time job, which she now loves dearly.

Building a Strong Community

Annie has built a passionate and supportive community around her books.

I love the community I’ve built and my readers,” she says.

The feedback from fans is incredibly touching, with many sharing how her books have helped them through tough times or rekindled their love for reading.

“I’ve received messages from new mothers who found comfort in my books. Hearing that my work has such a positive impact is the best feeling.”

Navigating Social Media

Transitioning to social media was a learning curve for Annie. Although she enjoys platforms like TikTok, becoming a social media influencer was a new challenge.

“I love connecting with people and reading comments. It’s been fun figuring out what to post and engaging with my followers.”

Despite the challenges, Annie has embraced this aspect of her career, sharing memes and updates that resonate with her fans.

The Phenomenon of Kidnapped by My Mate

Annie’s book Kidnapped by My Mate has garnered a cult following, a testament to its popularity.

To hear that my book has a cult following is hilarious and true. Kidnapped by My Mate, featuring Beautiful Belle and Alpha Grayson, is definitely my most popular book.

This success set the stage for her latest release, The Alpha’s Doe, which follows Grayson’s cousin, Ace.

The Journey of Writing The Alpha’s Doe

Writing The Alpha’s Doe was a long process, taking about three years from start to finish. Initially intended as a short story, it evolved significantly.

It was supposed to be a human who has a werewolf mate sneaking into her room every night. But then it unfolded and became more. I realized pretty quickly that Ace was related to Grayson because they’re similar.

Characters and Challenges

Differentiating characters while maintaining their connections was a challenge.

I struggled with not making Ace too similar to Grayson. Ace is a high schooler stepping into the role of Alpha, and he’s less mature. He has been keeping secrets from his mate, which has weighed on him.

Writing Dorothy, Ace’s mate, presented its own set of challenges.

Dorothy has been lied to her whole life and doesn’t know Ace is a werewolf. Writing her perspective was sometimes frustrating because she misses hints about the werewolf world. But she’s a sweetheart who just wants the best for everyone.

Connecting Universes

Annie cleverly interconnects her characters and their stories. The Alpha’s Doe starts around the time when Belle runs away from Grayson in Kidnapped by My Mate.

It was fun to connect them. At a crucial point in Ace and Dorothy’s story, Dorothy needs advice, and I realized Belle would give great advice. So, Belle pops in to help.

Future Projects

Fans will be thrilled to know that both The Alpha’s Doe and Kidnapped by My Mate will have sequels. Annie is currently working on these projects and is excited to share them with her readers soon.

I love announcing new projects to my readers and can’t wait to see their reactions.

Annie’s journey from a college dare to becoming a beloved author is inspiring. Her passion for storytelling and her deep connection with her readers make her a standout in the werewolf fiction genre.
