Chapter 5

Titus was taken aback when she mentioned dinner was ready, especially after she’d claimed she couldn’t cook. Maybe she just heated up some canned soup, he mused. Regardless, he was intrigued.

As he neared the dining room, a delightful scent wafted towards him, making his stomach rumble in anticipation.

He took a seat and eyed the plate of food before him as she poured the wine. “I can’t believe it. This looks and smells amazing.”

“I was surprised too,” Trixie admitted, taking a seat and sipping her wine. It was the first time she’d seen him smile since they’d reconnected.

After his first bite, he looked at her. “I thought you said you couldn’t cook?”

“I can’t,” she responded, laughing. “Wait, you think I cooked this? No way. I ordered it and had it delivered. Now, eat before it gets cold.”

His eyes darkened. “I thought you were broke?”

“I am.”

“Then how did you pay for this?”

“Easy, I ordered from one of those menus and used the code. It was charged to your tab. Now, I can surprise you with a nice meal every night. That’s what you wanted, right?”

He dropped his fork, stood up, stormed to the fridge, and yanked out all the menus.

“You’re crazy if you think I’m going to let you charge our meals to my tab. Do you have any idea how much that would cost?”

“What’s the big deal? You can afford it, and we need to eat.”

“It’s not about the money. It’s about you using my account without asking. I’ll be sure to call the restaurants and close my accounts so you can’t pull this again.”

“You’re so grumpy. At least come eat your dinner before it gets cold. It’s really good, and I bet you’re hungry.”

He was hungry, and the food did look and smell good. So, he sat back down and started eating again.

“Titus, why don’t you have a girlfriend?”

“How do you know I don’t?”

“I googled you before I came to see you. There was no mention of a girlfriend. You’re a good-looking guy. I’m sure there are plenty of women who want to be with you.”

“If you must know, I’ve been too busy building my career and working towards making partner to date much.

“Now, your turn. Why don’t you have a boyfriend? Although, after getting to know you, I can see why you don’t.”

His words stung, and she swallowed hard. “I had someone for almost a year before we broke up.”

“What happened?”

“I broke up with him after I found him in bed with one of my so-called friends.” She lowered her gaze to hide the tears welling up in her eyes.

She wasn’t about to let him see her vulnerable side; he’d take advantage of her, just like her ex had. She’d sworn never to let a man hurt her like that again.

He felt a pang of sympathy. “I’m sorry. Cheating is awful; no one deserves that.” His words felt hypocritical.

She looked at him, her eyes narrowing. “You would know.”

Not wanting to argue, she changed the subject. “So, what are your plans for tomorrow? I was thinking we could drive to the beach or something.”

“I already told you, we’re not spending time together. I don’t care what you do, but I’m meeting a friend at the gym to work out.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve worked out. I could go with you.”

“The last thing I want is to spend more time with you than necessary. Sorry, princess, you’ll have to find something else to do.”

“Why are you always so mean?”

Titus stood up abruptly, picked up his empty plate, and took it to the sink. He wasn’t usually this harsh with women, but damn, she seemed to enjoy pushing his buttons.

“I have some work to do before bed,” he said.

Trixie picked up her plate and put it in the sink next to his.

Every time he got angry, his jaw tightened, his eyes blazed, and his muscles flexed. It was actually a turn-on, sending tingles throughout her body.

It was getting late, so she decided to take a relaxing bubble bath.

As she lay in the tub, she couldn’t stop thinking about Titus and what it would be like to make love to him. She had a feeling he was an intense and passionate lover.

Hopefully, with just the right amount of roughness to make the sex more exciting.

After finishing his paperwork, Titus headed upstairs to his bedroom and took a long shower.

He couldn’t understand why Trixie affected him so much when he couldn’t stand her. But everything about her made his heart race and his body react.

Her scent was intoxicating; even her hair smelled incredible. She had a great figure, soft skin, and the most beautiful blue eyes he’d ever seen.

As he stood under the hot water, he thought about what it would feel like to be inside her.

Trixie looked like an angel, but beneath that beauty was a devil: a she-devil.

After relieving himself as best he could, he dried off, pulled on a clean pair of briefs, and climbed into bed.

Titus lay on his back with his hands behind his head, staring at the ceiling. He turned his head when he heard his bedroom door open and saw Trixie walk in.

Sweat beaded on his forehead and upper lip as he took in her outfit: a short, flimsy black gown that was low-cut and see-through.

He could see her nipples through the fabric, and when his gaze traveled lower, he saw she was wearing a thong.

He swallowed hard, fighting to control his hormones. “What are you doing in here?” he growled, trying to keep his voice steady.

She walked towards his bed, bouncing slightly so her breasts would catch his attention. She climbed onto the bed and smiled sweetly at him.

“I was lonely. Wow, this bed is so comfy. I think you should let me sleep in here.”

Titus lay flat on his back, hands tucked behind his head. “Leave my room before I toss you out.”

“I bet you don’t want me to go.”

“And what makes you think that?”

“Well, for starters, little Titus seems ready for some action,” she said, her gaze drifting down his body.

He cursed under his breath, annoyed at his body’s betrayal. “What do you expect when you waltz into my room wearing that? Your breasts are practically on display.”

“Do you like what you see?”

“I’m not going to repeat myself, get out of my room.”

Ignoring his words, Trixie climbed over him, her hands resting on either side of his body as she hovered above him.

“I don’t get why you’re resisting when it’s clear you want to fuck me. Your words say leave, but your body says otherwise.”

Trixie lowered her head, her lips brushing against his neck, her kisses soft. “I know you want me. I know you want to taste my breasts and feel your cock inside me.

“I can give you what you want. I can satisfy all your sexual desires.

“Touch me, Titus. Feel how wet I am for you.”

She continued to kiss his neck, moving down towards his chest, her words stirring him, his hardness pressing against her.

Before she could go any further, he flipped her onto her back, now hovering over her. “Are you always this forward in bed?”

“Is there a problem with that?”

“I don’t like it. The man should be the one in control, not the woman,” he said, pinning her hands above her head.

“Why is it okay for men to be dominant in bed and not women? You guys always think you have to be in control.

“We have as much right as you do to express what we want and when we want it. You want us to be weak and submissive, just to stroke your ego and make you feel like a real man.”

His gaze dropped to her chest, her breasts partially exposed. He wanted to taste them, to devour them. He was aching for a taste, but he knew once he started, he wouldn’t be able to stop.

He’d be lying if he said he didn’t find her forwardness a turn-on.

But he wasn’t going to give in. He had to stay strong.

He jumped off the bed, scooped her up, and tossed her over his shoulder.

“Titus, put me down right now,” she squealed.

“I’ll put you down when we get to your room,” Titus said, giving her ass a light smack.

He couldn’t help but admire her ass as he carried her to her room. It was the most perfect ass he’d ever seen, and he could easily picture himself behind her, pounding into her.

When he dropped her on the bed, Trixie cursed him, rubbing her cheek where he’d slapped her. “You jerk, how dare you hit me?”

She jumped off the bed and stood in front of him, hand raised. But before she could slap him, he grabbed her wrist and pinned it behind her back.

“Don’t even think about slapping me.”

“Well, you hit me first.”

“You deserved it, and I bet it turned you on.”

“Let go of me.”

“Not until you promise not to slap me.”

She was breathing heavily, her heart pounding. His body was pressed against hers, his warm breath fanning her face. He stared into her eyes, and she could see the lust in them.

A smile crossed her face as she realized how close he was to giving in. “I know you want me, so just take me. Don’t fight it, Titus. It’s bigger than both of us.”

He looked down at her smiling face and knew she was enjoying this.

Something came over him, and his mouth crashed onto hers. His kiss was rough, so intense they both ran out of breath.

Pulling away, he pushed her back onto the bed and stood over her.

“You don’t have to stop,” she said, spreading her legs. “Take me. I’m all yours, for as long as I’m here.”

His anger was at a boiling point, not just because of her words but because of how much he wanted her.

Furious with himself, he lashed out at her, saying things no man should ever say to a woman.

“You’re nothing but a slut. You’ve probably had so many men inside you; well, I don’t want to be one of them. You disgust me, and I wouldn’t fuck you if you were the last woman on earth.”

Seeing the hurt in her eyes and her trembling lips, he knew he’d crossed a line.

He left the room before he could apologize. Instead of going to his room, he went downstairs and poured himself a double scotch.

He felt like a jerk; even if she was promiscuous, he had no right to call her that or to speak to her the way he did.

She had made some valid points: why couldn’t a woman be forward in bed and why did it always have to be the man to initiate things?

Titus knew he wouldn’t sleep that night; so, after another cold shower, he finally fell asleep late into the night.

He woke up after a couple of hours and headed to the gym, hoping to be gone before she woke up.

Even though it was almost ten o’clock, he figured, being the spoiled princess that she was, she’d still be asleep, probably until noon.

But he was wrong, and he found it hard to look at her after what had happened.
