She knows I hate it when she leaves visible marks. Her voice is shrill and grates on my nerves.
At least sheâs good in bed.
Why am I doing this again?
I push her legs down onto her stomach, moving faster, each thrust hitting her cervix. After a few more thrusts, I feel her tighten around me as she climaxes, screaming my name.
I keep up my relentless pace until I reach my own climax, then collapse next to her on the bed, trying to catch my breath.
Ruby takes this as an invitation to run her manicured hand over my chest and down my stomach.

âRuby, we need to talk.â
Her eyes well up, tears threatening to spill over. She obviously knows what Iâm about to say. Sheâs probably expecting it.
âPlease, Tank, donât end it. We have a good thing going, donât we?â
âWe did, Ruby, but youâve become too clingy and needy. You want more from me, and honestly, I just donât have it in me to give you more.â
âYou knew what this was before it even started. I made it crystal clear that Iâm not interested in a relationship beyond a sexual one.â
Sheâs crying now, tears streaming down her face.
âBut Tank, I thought after you agreed to give me a second chance, you were ready to commit to more than just sex.â
âThatâs my fault. I should have made it clear what this was. I know it sounds harsh, Ruby, but this was just about sex. Good sex, but it ends tonight.â
âPlease donât try to contact me again. You know itâs for the best.â
âIâll just end up hurting you if we continue this, especially because I donât feel anything for you. You clearly have feelings for me that I canât return.â
I get up. Grabbing my clothes scattered on the floor, I dress quickly.
Ruby is still sitting on her bed, her knees bent, her head resting on them, tears still streaming down her face. I kiss the top of her head, then turn away from her.
Picking up my leather jacket from her couch, I put it on and walk out of her house, closing the door behind me on the chapter called âRuby.â
I walk to my Harley and swing my leg over the seat. Straddling my bike, I rev the engine and it roars to life.
I love the vibrations between my legs and the thrill my bike gives me when we hit the open road.
I ride to my apartment without giving Ruby another thought. She knows how I am. The distance my bike puts between her house and my apartment frees me from the suffocating feeling of being trapped.
