Chapter 1

REAPER

There comes a point in every man’s life when he just feels worn out. Tired of the same old routine. Tired of life’s monotony.

I didn’t know what I was searching for until she walked into my life. I felt trapped in my existence until she came to visit Aliana. I didn’t know what I was truly yearning for.

Well, that’s not entirely true. There’s one thing I’ve wanted since I was a kid.

I’ve always dreamed of being part of the Broken Angels MC. The Club is the one constant in my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

But I realized that I wanted more. I wanted a family—a wife, kids, even a dog. I want the whole package. I just didn’t know with whom until that blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman strolled into our clubhouse.

That was nearly two years ago, but who’s keeping track? She moved here and started a clinic with Ali.

We’ve been together quite a bit since she arrived. It’s been the best damn sex of my life, every single time. She’s spoiled me for other women—and I hope I’ve done the same for her with other men.

We’ve been playing this cat-and-mouse game. It was exciting at first—I loved the chase. But now, I’m not so sure. It’s a rollercoaster with her, and I don’t think I could walk away or even keep my distance if I tried.

Maybe that’s why I’ve been going on more runs since she arrived. So I have an excuse to stay away.

Hannah is always on my mind, day and night.

The way she feels in my arms. The way her lips taste against mine.

The way her pussy grips my cock like a vice.

She was made for me. I just don’t know how to make her see it. I’ve been yearning for this woman for almost two years. What’s a few more months?

“Uncle Jackson!” My thoughts are interrupted by little voices calling my name.

I turn around to see Macey and Jacey, my goddaughters, standing there with their tiny hands clasped in their brothers’ hands, looking just like their mom.

Macey is holding onto Murdock’s hand and Jacey is holding onto Danny’s. These boys are fiercely protective of their mom and sisters.

Ali went through hell when she was pregnant with them, but they made it through, healthy as can be.

“I don’t think I know anyone by that name.” I joke, getting up from the barstool and heading toward them. They turn one today, so we’re all gathering at the clubhouse for their party.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since these little angels were born.

When Alex showed up to take the girls, Aliana went into early labor and ended up hemorrhaging.

She was fighting for her life while the girls were fighting for theirs. We got lucky when they all came out of it safe and sound.

“Yes, you do! Mommy said she needs help!” Danny tells me before they all scamper off to the playroom in the clubhouse.

We had a room made just for the kids for when it’s too cold outside. It’s the middle of November, so it’s a bit too chilly for them to be playing outdoors.

I shake off my thoughts and head outside to help Aliana bring things in. Ali is six months pregnant and looking as radiant as ever.

“I’m surprised your old man let you out of the house with you being pregnant and all. We all know how he likes to keep you sitting on your ass the whole time.”

“You try telling Aliana something and see how far you get with that. Just make sure the guns are locked up,” Axyl says from behind me.

We all know better than to boss Ali around. She can be trigger happy. Nonpregnant Ali is scary, but pregnant Ali is downright terrifying.

We all know this, but Axyl loves seeing her pregnant, so he’s made it his mission to get her pregnant as often as possible. Granted, this is the first time he’s personally gotten her pregnant.

“That’s right, you jerk. Now tell the guys to get their asses out here and unload this stuff before I bring out the gun. It’s freezing.”

I shake my head and grab the bags from the back of her car. I see the guys practically sprinting outside, tripping over their own feet, to get stuff from her car. Yeah, like I said, pregnant Ali is terrifying.

“For heaven’s sake, woman! Would you sit down!” I turn my attention toward Axyl yelling at Aliana.

We’ve brought everything in for the twins’ party, and now we’re setting it all up.

Apparently, they wanted a Doc McStuffins–themed party. I don’t know how many episodes of that show I’ve watched, but I’d do anything for those kids. All of them.

I see Aliana standing on a chair, hanging up streamers, “Shut up and help me.”

I turn back toward the table I’m covering with tablecloths while Axyl grumbles about Ali being a stubborn woman. She’s been a dictator today, that’s for sure, but she wouldn’t be Aliana if she wasn’t.

“Hey! Sorry I’m late!” Hannah calls out. My body instantly reacts to her voice. “I got held up at the clinic, and then I had to go home and change.”

I turn toward the door to see her, my woman, rushing toward Aliana. She doesn’t even glance my way.

I don’t know if I should be hurt or not. I mean, she could have just been focused on Ali.

I watch as her hips sway with each hurried step she takes. My cock instantly hardens, making my pants uncomfortably tight.

The jeans she’s wearing hug her ass perfectly. Her blonde hair is in a messy ponytail, and the shirt she’s wearing accentuates her curves and the swell of her breasts perfectly.

Damn. She’s absolutely perfect.

“Close that mouth of yours, you’re gonna catch flies. And you’re drooling,” Westyn teases, standing next to me.

I snap my mouth shut and shoot him a glare. “Shut the hell up.”

He just shakes his head, laughing. “Just wait till you find a girl, and all she wants is a good roll in the hay.”

“You’re whipped,” he says. “Better stake your claim before she slips away. You’re looking at her the same way Axyl used to look at my sister. Hell, he still does.

“Don’t be like Axyl and wait forever to make a move. No one in this club can handle that kind of drama again.” With that, he walks over to his sister, trying to get her to sit down.

I doubt it’s going to work. Especially since Axyl hasn’t had any luck with it.

Hannah’s eyes scan the room, taking in the decorations before they lock with mine.

Damn. I’m a goner when she looks at me with those mesmerizing blue eyes. I’d do anything for this woman, and she doesn’t even know it.

I watch as Ali leans over to whisper something to her before she starts heading my way. “Hey, Reaper.”

“Jackson. I’ve told you to call me Jackson, Hannah.” I watch a shiver ripple through her body before she can hide it. She’s fighting the attraction between us, and I don’t know why.

“Can we talk? Alone?” I nod and lead her to my room at the clubhouse. She follows me, and I open the door to let her in first before I follow her in, shutting the door and locking it.

“What did you want to talk about?”

She turns to face me and takes a deep breath. She sits on the bed, looking like she’s wrestling with herself.

“Listen, whatever it is, you can tell me,” I say. “I know you want this to be just about sex between us, but you know how I feel about you. I’ll listen to whatever you need to say.”

I sit down on the bed next to her and wait for her to start talking.

“I like you, Jackson. At first, I was just looking for someone to have casual sex with, but each time I’m with you, it gets harder to resist this pull I feel toward you.

“There are things about me that you don’t know, and I don’t know how you’ll react when I tell you.”

“Hannah, I’m not here to judge you. You should know that. You should have known that since the first time we were together almost two years ago.”

She huffs and starts to tell me things about her that I never, in a million years, would have guessed.
