Chapter 6

SKYE

“Since we got out early today, we all want to go shopping for tomorrow so it won’t be such a rush... You in?”

I saw the pleading look in her eyes, so I agreed, but I wanted to go back to my house to change first. I told her I would meet them at the mall, thinking that it would only be a girls’ day out.

I got home and jumped into the shower, washing quickly before getting ready for the shopping session.

I was busy drying my hair when I heard this weird clinking noise at my window. I put on my robe and went to check.

When I looked outside, I saw Flirt Boy throwing some rocks at my window like some lovesick Rapunzel shit. Rolling my eyes, I opened the window.

“What do you want?” I said with a straight face. He gave me a triumphant smile with a glint in his eyes as he saw my robe and half-wet hair. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest.

“Where are you going?” he asked, biting his lip.

“Getting ready for a date!” I lied, but he didn’t need to know that. I wanted to distance myself from all of them. He had a look on his face like he ate the nastiest thing on earth.

“With who?” he asked through clenched teeth. He looked beyond pissed. I checked the time and realized I was almost late.

“Sorry, gotta run, cupcake!” I said, closing my window and finishing up. My hair was extra bouncy and wavy today, so I let it hang loose.

I decided to wear my light-blue mini skirt that luckily covered my bruised thighs, and a light-green shirt with a lacy back that made my eyes pop.

I completed the look with my white wedge heels, light makeup, and my favorite perfume.

I packed a bag for the club tonight with PJs and all my essentials. I didn’t eat anything as I thought we would get something at the mall before the game. I had already called a cab before I got home.

I went to the front door, and when I reached for the handle, the cab hooted. I giggled to myself at my perfect timing. I locked the door behind me and turned to walk to the cab.

I heard a low whistle behind me and turned to see Flirt Boy standing at the fence, staring at me with a wolfish grin. “Think of me, babe.”

“Not gonna happen,” I said, rolling my eyes and smiling at him. I heard him laugh before I got into the cab.

The ride to the mall was slow as the streets were packed with heavy Friday traffic. I was the last to arrive.

It wasn’t just the girls. The whole damn gang was there! I blushed at my outfit, but it was too late to do anything, so I paid for the cab and got out.

I turned around in time to catch Evan staring at my ass with a wolfish smirk and Mona giving me a wink.

“Bitch, you look sexy!” she half-yelled at me, with Liza whistling along in agreement. I rolled my eyes and struck a few poses with pouty lips and swinging hips.

We all burst out laughing before going into the mall.

Mona made us go into every single store we saw. I was bummed out that I didn’t find anything I liked or that was in my budget, but I decided that I would just wear one of my old outfits to the mansion party.

I noticed a weird-looking man following us around the whole time but decided to just ignore it. The gang was here and we would all look out for each other.

While Evan and I waited for the rest to finish in the last store, he offered to buy me a frozen yogurt. I accepted immediately and asked for English toffee.

It tasted a bit off, though. Not as good as the ones I had in Texas. I knew that not all the places made it the same, so I just rolled with it and enjoyed Evan’s cheesy jokes and weird attempts at flirting.

I thought he was a really great guy and any girl would be lucky to have him. The gang came to join us and Mona told us how they tricked Nathan into admitting he had a crush on Elsie.

We laughed at his blushing face but before he could protest, Elsie kissed him.

We all sat there staring at them before Mona gave a high-pitched squeal and wrapped her arms around Elsie.

After we did the shopping, we put the bags in Nathan’s car and went back to watch a movie, but halfway through Zombie Massacre, I felt like I needed to get out of there.

My back was killing me, my body was overheating, and I had a huge headache.

I scooted past everyone and exited the theater, the smell of freshly made popcorn and strawberry slushy relaxing me slightly. I needed to use the restroom. Maybe I’d feel better after.

I went in and did my business while rubbing my temples to get rid of the headache, but to no avail.

While I was still in the cubicle, I heard someone enter the bathroom. The door next to mine slammed shut. I heard giggling, kissing, and the undoing of zippers, followed by a soft moaning.

I bit my tongue to keep myself from laughing as I finished up. As I was washing my hands and trying to pat cold water at the base of my neck for the headache, I heard the door behind me slowly open.

I looked up and locked eyes with Bimbo Barbie and Flirt Boy. She was fixing her dress, and his face was one of pure disgust.

“Marcus, baby, that was amazing! We should do this again,” she purred into his ear, but he just pushed her aside.

I heard her throwing a tantrum and I tried my best to block out her irritating voice while I ran a cloth under the cold water again. I wrung the cloth, closed my eyes, and pressed it to the nape of my neck.

I was starting to feel dizzy and tried to slow down my breathing. I heard muffled screaming and fighting, then silence before I blacked out completely.

Suddenly, I felt a warm hand on my back and my eyes shot open.

I looked up into Draque’s worried eyes and gave him a small smile before I closed my eyes again, applying more pressure to my neck.

The warm tingling from his hand on my back and his body so close to mine sent a rush through my body as I took in his scent.

Looking back up, I saw Draque smirk at me. I tried to roll my eyes at him, but I had to close them as my dizziness got worse.

“I’m okay,” I lied. My head felt like it was splitting open, and I was seeing double. It felt like I was sitting on a cloud and drifting away.

My legs gave out under me but I never felt the floor. Instead, strong arms wrapped around me and picked me up bridal style.

I sighed and snuggled into the muscled chest while I took a deep whiff of the intoxicating scent around me.

“You are my new favorite smell…” I wasn’t sure if I said it out loud or just thought it. The clouds surrounded me once more. My body went numb even as my heart fluttered.

I felt light vibrations against my body and heard soft voices talking, but I couldn’t make anything out.

I woke up with a throbbing headache and a weird feeling all over my body. Fear started to choke me as I realized I was not in my room.

I was lying in a huge bed with a thick fluffy blanket covering me. I checked my clothing and my heart stopped when I saw the dress-size black shirt covering my body.

I couldn’t feel my bra or panties and there was no sign of my shirt, skirt, or shoes anywhere. I sat up slowly and took a few deep breaths before looking around to see if I could figure out where I was.

I was in awe of the sight in front of me. I was in a huge double-story room. The bed was on top and looking down I could see a large couch facing a fireplace with a glass table in the middle.

To my left, there was a dark-brown desk with a computer and stacks of papers overlooking the best view I had ever seen.

The whole left wall was floor-to-ceiling windows with a balcony outside overlooking the beach.

I was so mesmerized by the view of the sunset that I didn’t even notice a person sitting in the dark corner at the foot of the bed.

My body froze when I heard a light chuckle and my eyes shot around, looking for where the sound came from. They landed on crystals staring intently at me.

“Do you like it?” he asked in a deep sexy voice, making my brain goo for a moment. I cleared my throat to try and hide the blush that was starting to creep up my neck.

I just nodded, biting my lip before I averted my eyes back to the sunset to enjoy the last few rays before it disappeared.

As soon as the sun was fully gone, all the lights in the room went on, giving the room a soft romantic glow.

“Where am I?” I asked when I finally found my voice and calmed my hormones.

“In my room,” he said with a devilish grin as my eyes widened in embarrassment. I was in his room, wearing only an oversized shirt, butt naked underneath…

And gawking at his room like I wasn’t used to being in one. What was going on?
