The Alpha and Luna 3: His Enchanted Luna
My whole life, I’ve known only pain.
I was orphaned as a child and forced to service my pack’s violent and cruel alpha.
I was human, so no wolf wanted me as a mate. That’s why I had no choice but to become his favorite toy.
That all changed the day I met him—the son of the alpha king.
He came to visit my alpha, and the moment our eyes met, it was like a bolt of electricity shooting down my spine. He was my mate.
But how? I was only human. Or was I?
And would my old alpha let me go without a fight?

Chapter 1
JAXON
“Jax, remember your training and follow my lead once we get there. We’re here to form an alliance,” my dad says to me.
I can’t help but interrupt him. “Why do we need an alliance with a pack that’s so far away we need a jet to reach them?”
His answer is simple. “It’s good to have friends in all places, son.”
I nod in understanding as we touch down. Three sleek, black SUVs are waiting for us on the tarmac.
My dad, our warriors, and I disembark from the plane, climbing into the vehicles. We head straight for the pack. My dad’s face is already etched with longing for my mom. He doesn’t want to be away for long.
I hope to find a love like theirs someday. But here I am, in my twenties, and still no mate. I’d hoped to find her when I turned eighteen, but no such luck.
All my siblings have found their mates. I’m the only one left.
I’m so lost in my thoughts about finding a mate that I barely notice our surroundings as we pull up to the packhouse. The place looks rundown, neglected.
I exchange a glance with my dad. Before either of us can voice our thoughts, Uncle Liam asks the question on all our minds. “Why would they invite us here when the place looks like this?”
Our vehicles come to a halt in front of what I assume is the packhouse. A man who looks like a warrior steps out, looking somewhat sheepish.
He must have noticed the expressions on our warriors’ faces.
He introduces himself and we follow him inside. He leads us to a conference room filled with Alphas and their betas.
A young man, seated in the Alpha’s chair, claps his hands as we enter. “It’s great to see you, Alpha Darren. You’re the last to arrive. I hope my humble home is to your liking.”
My father nods and takes a seat. I sit next to him. The young Alpha introduces himself as Robert. He’s desperate for alliances to help him deal with rogues and other packs trying to take his land.
Another Alpha interrupts him, asking what’s in it for us. What benefits would we gain from allying with him?
It’s a valid question. From the looks of the place, he doesn’t have much to offer. As we ponder this, a knock sounds and a group of girls enter the room.
I catch a whiff of vanilla and peaches. My wolf, Shadow, stirs within me. ‘Mate is near, Jax.’ I turn my head towards the door as the last girl walks in.
She keeps her head down, taking slow, hesitant steps. She looks terrified, and I hate that she’s scared.
She stops walking and lifts her head, meeting my gaze. ‘Mate, mate,’ Shadow screams in my head. Her eyes widen as she looks at me, then she quickly lowers her gaze, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
Robert clears his throat, and I have to suppress a growl at his next words. “Right now, I can offer these beautiful ladies to you all.”
‘Gift? What gifts are you talking about, Shadow?’
Shadow doesn’t respond, putting up his mental block. I glance at the clock. It’s just past two in the morning.
Today is my graduation day. Instead of resting, I’m having dreams that feel too real. I toss and turn for a few more hours.
My mind is filled with thoughts about the dream and Shadow’s words.
Shadow insists it was a premonition, a glimpse of the future. I want to believe it was just a dream, but it felt too real.
My birthday is tomorrow. Instead of finding my mate, I know I won’t. And when I do find her, she’ll be paraded in front of a room full of Alphas. The thought makes my blood boil.
I must have dozed off because I can hear my family getting ready for breakfast. I shower and dress, then head to the kitchen.
I know Jace and Dakota will want me to take them to school. Daniella can tell something’s off with me, but she doesn’t press me about it.
After dropping off our siblings at school, Shadow and I decide to run to the waterfall.
Dani waits patiently for me to tell her what’s wrong. I share my dream and we’re both stunned as our wolves talk about us having gifts, but refuse to elaborate.
Dani suggests a prank to cheer me up and we set off to start our day.
Kaleb tries to ruin my day, but Daniella puts him in his place. Our graduation goes well, especially when the principal leaves, screaming.
For some reason, I feel like this might be one of the last pranks Daniella and I pull together. I don’t tell her that, though. I just enjoy our prank.
