ALICE
Sleep was a lost cause. His eyes were etched into my mind, refusing to fade. Everyone else had succumbed to the lull of alcohol, but I was wide awake. I made myself a warm drink and settled on the porch.
I was just savoring the last sip of my cocoa when a chill ran down my spine.
A shadowy figure emerged from the path leading to the cabin.
I squinted, trying to make out who it was. As he neared the cabin, the light revealed his identity.
It was the same man from earlier. He was dressed in black jeans and a snug dark top, looking sinfully attractive.
“Excuse me, miss.” His voice was a deep rumble that sent shivers down my spine.
He moved with a fluid grace, as if he was floating above the ground.
His eyes held me captive; they seemed to glow in the darkness. As he approached, his familiar woody scent filled my senses, driving me wild.
He towered over me, reaching out to caress my face. His fingers traced my cheek, sending a thrill through me.
“I want you,” I breathed out, surprising myself.
I was never the bold type. I was the girl who sat quietly in the corner while everyone else made out.
“Fuck it,” he groaned, crashing his lips onto mine. It was electrifying.
I hadn’t expected the stranger to kiss me, but there was something about him that drew me in. I wrapped my arms around his neck, plunging my tongue into his mouth, desperate for more.
A heat pooled between my legs as our tongues tangled.
I let out a soft moan, or at least I thought it was soft, but he responded by pulling me closer, deepening the kiss. I could feel his arousal pressing against me, sending sparks through me.
When I finally pulled away to catch my breath, he seemed to panic, apologizing for his actions. He started to retreat. I should let him go; he was a stranger, and I didn’t even know his name.
“Wait.”
The word slipped out and he froze. My body trembled as he turned back to face me. His eyes flared with an amber glow and I felt a rush of heat.
Holy fuck. What was happening? How could a stranger affect me like this? My heart pounded so hard I thought it might burst.
He was struggling with something, I could see it. He let out a long breath, his gaze locked on mine, making me shiver. For a moment, I was sure my heart stopped.
He moved swiftly, nothing like his earlier clumsy steps. He swept me into his arms, lifting me off the ground. He hesitated for a split second before claiming my mouth again.
I wrapped my legs around his waist as he carried me to the soft grass where I had fallen earlier. He laid me down gently, his body covering mine, his mouth never leaving mine.
His hands started to wander towards my jeans, then stopped.
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
He propped himself up on his elbows, his amber eyes burning into mine.
I didn’t understand what he was doing to me. I slid my hands under his top, craving more.
Was I really doing this?
He growled as I pushed up his top to feel his skin, his back muscles tensing under my touch.
His skin was warm, and I reveled in the feel of his body against mine.
He was gentle, and I could feel his desire for me. God, I was so wet. I had never wanted anyone this much.
I was sure he could sense my need as he kissed me again.
“Oh fuck.” I wasn’t sure if I had said it out loud, but he ground his hips into me, pressing against my core, and I thought I might climax right then and there.
I was ready to bare myself to this man, to let him take me. Just when I thought I couldn’t be more aroused, his lips left mine to trail down my neck.
My body trembled. I must have dug my nails into his skin as he sucked on my neck, his grunt sending a jolt through me. I was panting, on the brink of climax, when he suddenly stopped.
“Please don’t stop,” I pleaded as he moved away from me.
“I want to fuck you, Alice, but I’m scared.”
I wondered what he was afraid of. I thought he was going to leave me. I felt a chill and longed for his warmth again.
I had only had sex a few times and I wasn’t experienced, but my body was aching for him. With trembling hands, I unbuttoned my jeans. The night was dark, lit only by the half-moon and the stars.
I lifted my hips to slide my jeans down, wriggling out of them.
“Alice, what are you doing?” He inhaled sharply.
“I don’t know, but I need you.” I was sure I was dripping wet, and the only thing that could satisfy me was his throbbing cock.
He hesitated, then started to undo his jeans, freeing himself.
I gasped at the sight of him. He was huge, but my body still yearned for him. He knelt between my legs and pushed up my top, exposing my breasts.
He took a nipple in his mouth as his fingers brushed against my pussy, teasing my clit. His voice was a deep murmur that made me lose all coherent thought.
He pushed his fingers into me, burying them deep. I clung to him as my body convulsed, climaxing on his fingers.
“I’ll be gentle with you, Alice,” he whispered in my ear before he entered me, filling me slowly, stretching me.
“Oh, fuck me, I’m going to hell for this,” he muttered as he pulled out and thrust back into me, his movements growing more forceful. He grunted with each deep thrust.
“Surrender to me, Alice. Give me everything.”
His voice stirred something within me, and an overwhelming wave of pleasure sent me writhing beneath him. My body convulsed with an intense orgasm, and I was certain I was on the brink of losing consciousness. I bit back a scream, not wanting to wake the others.
He thrust into me again, this time with a primal urgency. Tears welled up in my eyes as I felt the heat of his release inside me, accompanied by a deep, guttural growl.
I was jolted back from what felt like a trance. His warm lips found mine again, and he held me close as we both shuddered, our climaxes finally subsiding.
Our satisfied moans mingled as he withdrew from me.
He extended a hand to help me up. My legs were still trembling. I must have been out of my mind to let a stranger take me like that.
I was relieved that I was on birth control, but I couldn’t shake off the feeling of stupidity for sleeping with someone I barely knew.
I pulled my panties back on and slipped into my jeans before heading back to the cabin. I settled back down on the swing. He hesitated, as if he didn’t want to leave, but he knew he had to.
He planted one last kiss on my lips, and I clung to his collar, unwilling to let him go.
“Don’t leave,” I whispered.
“I have to, Alice. But remember, you’re mine now.”
His words sent a shiver of excitement coursing through me. He turned and began to walk away.
“What’s your name?” I called out softly, hoping he would hear me.
“Sebastian,” he replied before disappearing into the woods.
I wondered where he was headed. Was he staying in a nearby cabin? I hoped so.
When morning came, I heard Cassie’s voice. She sounded panicked, and I couldn’t figure out why.
She burst out of the door, finding me on the swing on the veranda. Cassie let out a sigh of relief and threw her arms around me.
“Oh my God, Alice, did you sleep out here all night?”
“I must have dozed off. I had the wildest dreams about a handsome stranger.” I was beginning to question whether last night was real or just a dream.
“You’re lucky no animals came to get you. You could have been mauled by a bear or a wolf. You do know there are bears and wolves out here, right?”
When Cassie mentioned the word ‘mauled,’ I remembered Sebastian using the same word when I arrived.
It was as if he was here again, holding me tight as he thrust deep inside me. The memory was so vivid that I had to squeeze my legs together and stifle a moan.
“What time is it?”
“Eight o’clock. Why don’t you go take a shower before the others wake up? I’ll make breakfast for everyone.”
I thanked Cassie with a smile, got up, and stretched my legs. As I turned to close the door, I caught a glimpse of amber eyes glowing from the tree line opposite me. I touched my lips and felt a tingling sensation.
It was as if he was kissing me all over again. The eyes disappeared, and I closed the door, heading for a shower.
As I stood under the shower, washing my hair and body, I reached down and touched myself. Instantly, a spark ignited between my legs.
Did last night really happen?
A knock on the door jolted me from my thoughts.
“I’m coming out, just a minute.” I turned off the shower, wrapped a towel around myself, and left the bathroom for Bella, who was desperate to use the toilet.
We were all awake now, settling down for some coffee and beans on toast that Cassie had made. I sat quietly, thinking about the stranger from last night, Sebastian.
I decided not to mention anything to the others. They probably wouldn’t believe me anyway, and then they’d laugh at me for concocting some wild fantasy. After breakfast, we all packed our stuff away.
We were heading out for a day of adventure.
“Got everything?” Bella called out.
With thoughts of the wolf from yesterday and the glowing eyes I saw this morning, I bit my bottom lip. I wanted to see them again.
I wandered toward the tree line, searching. “I think I lost my bracelet around here last night. I’m just going to look for it.”
“Don’t wander off too far.”
I continued walking along the trees. I was sure I saw him. My heart pounded at the thought of seeing the wolf again.
“Are you there?” I whispered. “We’re just going hiking for the day. Will I see you later?”
I wasn’t sure why I was saying this to him. I felt a strange pull toward the wolf who had visited yesterday, the same feelings I had when Sebastian appeared.
A branch snapped further in, and the wolf appeared.
I gasped as it approached me. The beautiful creature nuzzled its head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arms around its neck and leaned into it.
“Are you real? I mean, I know you are, but who are you, really?”
It let out a soft groan in my ear as I cuddled it. “We’re going away for the day. I’ll be back later.”
I wanted him to know. I wasn’t sure if he understood me, but I had a feeling he did when he whimpered at the mention of us going hiking.
“Alice,” Cassie called.
The wolf whined again as I let him go.
“I’ll come back.” I kissed his head.
He stepped back, allowing me to stand up. Now unafraid, I stroked his head and ran my hand down his body. With one last touch from me, he turned and ran off.
I watched him until he disappeared. Quickly, I made my way back to the others.
“I couldn’t find it. The bracelet.”
“Let’s go.”
We all set off down the road toward the towering mountains of Greystone Peaks.
