Tania Shava
Talia
They headed to the garden. She decided she would try to get as many answers as she could from him without revealing too much.
She didn’t know if the visions that she had seen were real or not. Her mind was scattered and she didn’t know how to feel about it.
Talia really studied Axel. What was he hiding?
He was gentle and patient with her, yet he offered no answers. What had happened to her that led up to her losing her memories?
“Axel?”
Talia’s breath caught when Axel looked at her. “What’s wrong, Talia?”
“Nothing. I wanted to ask you a question, but I guess it must have slipped my mind.”
“I don’t buy it. Tell me what’s going through that thick skull of yours,” Axel replied.
“Thick skull?”
“Yes, Talia, that thick skull of yours, I don’t know if I have you or not.”
“What do you mean by that? You don’t know if you have me or not?”
Axel sighed before answering. “Sometimes you’re with me, and sometimes you feel so distant.”
“Distant?”
“Yes, Talia.” Axel looked her directly in the eyes. “I want to hold onto you, but the more I try, the more you slip away.”
Talia could hear the fear in his voice, but what did Axel have to fear? There had to be more to this story that she didn’t know.
“What’s meant to be will always be true.”
“Do you think we are meant to be?” Axel replied.
“What kind of question is that, Axel? Of course. You’re the one who saved me, and you’re doing everything in your power to make sure that I get better.”
“I don’t want you to feel indebted to me. I owe ~you~ everything.” Axel placed his hands on her shoulders.
“You are my life, Talia. Without you, there’s no meaning. When you weren’t there, there was no meaning at all.”
Axel drew her into his arms, and she wrapped her arms around his waist, feeling the tension in his body. Talia wondered what he meant when he said when she wasn’t there.
Or was it when she was in a coma? That must be it.
She pushed the doubts out of her mind and decided to enjoy the moment. The night sky, being in the warm arms of her lover. His scent was intoxicating, and she inched closer to him.
She felt the light touch of his lips on the curve of her throat and she inhaled sharply.
