The Same Dream

Alpha Hawk

Ever since Akasha vanished, everything had been hushed whispers. Draven’s men were still lurking around our borders, I think Akasha had convinced him he was on a mission to keep an eye on us. Alice had done a fantastic job persuading other packs to join us. Now, she was busy taking care of her and Sebastian’s son.

He was a cute little thing, and I could already see a strong friendship forming between Max and Nox. Max was destined to be an alpha when he grew up; as for Estella, or Ella as I now call her, I wasn’t sure what her future held.

In some ways, I was grateful for the quiet before the storm; it gave Sebastian and me a chance to spend time with our kids. But now, it was time to act. Rumors were spreading that Akasha had infiltrated some nearby humans, which was a major concern.

“What are you going to do?” Star asked, her fingers tracing patterns on my chest as we lay in bed. The twins were sleeping peacefully in their cot next to us. I didn’t want them out of our sight.

“He’ll use them as cannon fodder against us. We need to find him and kill him before he starts anything.” The stress was getting to me. I never signed up to take on the world. “I guess I could pay Warden Warwick a visit, maybe get some answers out of Ozworld, if he’s still alive.”

“You’ve been working hard to keep the humans from discovering us. It’s hard enough with what we normally do, but if Akasha has been manipulating them into a war they don’t understand, how are we going to break the news that they’ve been living with werewolves and vampires for centuries?” Star’s lips moved from my chest to my neck as she climbed on top of me.

I gripped her hips as she moved against me. Her beauty stirred the beast within me as her pussy rubbed against my cock. “Let me take your worries away for a while. I’ve missed you, and the twins are sleeping.”

“You are my mate, my shining star. The one who guides me when my mind is filled with darkness.” I thrust my hard cock into her, releasing all my stress and worries in one go.

Star moved on top of me; her pussy tightened around my cock as she came. I then lifted her and rolled over her. The animal inside me took over. I loved my wife and mate. I’d die for her. Razor also loved fucking his mate, Skylar, so in mid-fuck we changed, and I let Razor reach his peak, before we changed back and I finished off. There was something magical about being able to change and fuck as both human and wolf with your mate. Most couples would choose one or the other, but with Star, the sensation of my cock being pulled as I changed was indescribable.

“Oh, my god.” Star collapsed on the bed, her bare ass begging to be bitten. Instead, I kissed up her back and nuzzled the side of her neck where her mark was.

“I love you,” she mumbled, half asleep.

I moved to cradle her in my arm, her head resting in the crook of it, and kissed her forehead. “You are my world. I love you.” As I drifted off to sleep, the same dream I’d had for years invaded my mind.

Over six years ago, a seer guided me, told me where my mate would be. I had crossed into the territory of the Scarred Rebels Pack, and as soon as I saw Alpha Jamerson, my heart sank. His sneer was immediately off-putting. He was a nasty piece of work.

~

“I’ve come for my mate.” My words came out unsure.

~

“There are no single she-wolves here,” he snapped back at me.

~

The pack was a mess as I searched for the sweet scent that hit my nose. “Mate,” Razor kept repeating. We were both certain she was here. Then my eyes found her. She was behind a door with a small, barred window.

~

“Mate,” I growled, baring my teeth at the repulsive alpha blocking my path.

~

“She’s just a worthless girl who can’t change,” he snapped at me.

~

I didn’t wait for his permission and stormed over to where she was, tearing the door off its hinges and locks. She was barely covered by a rag. I held out my hand for her to take.

~

“Mate,” I whispered, not wanting to frighten her. She must have been about twenty, but they kept her like a caged animal.

~

“Mate.” She gulped as she took my hand. Her whole body was shaking as she stepped out of the tiny cell.

~

I scooped her up in my arms and carried her, vowing never to step foot in this pack again.

~

“You can take her. She’ll only disappoint you like she has this pack,” Alpha Jamerson snarled as I passed him.

~

“True mates never disappoint each other.” I smirked at him. I had come alone in my truck, leaving my beta to run things while I embarked on this journey.

~

“Astrid.” She finally spoke as I drove. “My name is Astrid.”

~

“Hawk. I am the alpha of the Greystone Ridge Pack, and I will protect and love you the way a mate should.” I smiled at her and handed her a bag. “There should be some water and a sandwich in there, maybe a blueberry muffin, too.”

~

Astrid devoured it all, and I wondered when she had last eaten. On the ride back, I got her to talk. Before we reached my pack, I pulled over. We were on top of the mountain range and the view was breathtaking. The stars filled the night sky. I took her hand and led her to the front of the truck.

~

“See all that.” I pointed to my pack in the distance. “This will be your new home, one filled with love and equality.” I put my arm around her shoulder and she flinched at first, then snuggled into me.

~

“Thank you.” She blinked back tears.

~

We stood there, staring out over the area. I pointed out a few places to her, and she relaxed into me. A shooting star streaked across the sky and my skin tingled. I had found my mate and brought her home.

~

“Star. You are my shining star.” I tilted her chin up and looked into her eyes, which reflected millions of stars back at me. From that night on, I only ever called her Star. I think part of it was to erase her past. It took a while for her to settle in, to not fear that we would hurt her. Now, Star was the light that guided our pack and brought me back home every time I was away; she gave me everything a mate could give.

This morning I decided to pay Warden Warwick a visit and find out what Ozworld knew about Akasha and his plans.

“Sebastian, there’s a changeover for holidaymakers today. Make sure all the cabins are cleaned and ready for the next guests.” I was meeting him in my office after breakfast.

“Are you going alone?” He frowned at me.

“Yes, I think it’s for the best. Warden Warwick doesn’t like others coming to his penitentiary hold.” I scratched my head and took the phone I had off charge. Star convinced me to take it with me. “Apart from a few stragglers around, all is quiet, and we know what that means.” I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Yeah, trouble is coming this way.” Sebastian clapped me on the back as we left. “I’ll make sure we keep double checks around the area.”

“Good, I’ll see you when I return.” I threw a bag in the truck and jumped in. If I could get Ozworld to talk, we might have a chance in this war coming our way.
