In a world where dragons and humans coexist, Princess Summer is determined to unite the two species through the Dragon Festival. But as she navigates her complex relationships with her dragon mates, Dane and Aneurin, and encounters a mysterious nomad who hints at her crucial role, Summer's mission becomes fraught with danger and desire. With threats looming from rogue dragons and a sinister king wielding a powerful diamond, Summer must balance love, loyalty, and leadership to protect her kingdom and her heart.
Summer’s Festival 🌶🌶🌶
SUMMER
The short skirt of my leotard spun around me as I twirled.
“You are beautiful,” Maddie, my littlest cousin and biggest fan, whispered in awe.
I giggled as I picked her up and spun once more on the shiny marble floor of the castle’s entryway.
“I want the circus today!” she cried. I stopped and put her back on her feet.
“Not yet…” I replied. “The Dragons haven’t learned all their tricks yet!”
“Awww,” Maddie crossed her arms, and her cute face turned down in a frown.
Nell hustled in from the dining room, and I motioned her over as Maddie grabbed on to my thigh.
“And I need to go rehearse for the show right now,” I said, trying to extricate myself from her.
Nell winked at me as she lifted Maddie up once more.
“Let’s go try the cookies I just made, huh?” Nell asked, and Maddie shrieked with delight once again.
I smiled to myself as I burst through the front door of the castle and skipped down the stone steps.
As always, I had butterflies in my stomach, anticipating a visit with my mates. Dane and Aneurin would be waiting for me in the spot where we always practiced.
I headed for the babbling brook, feeling light as air.
I had a lot to be excited for.
The circus was coming along. In just a week, people would travel from distant kingdoms to Patter for the show of the year…
Dragon Festival.
Of course, it was fun to perform. But the show would serve a greater purpose too.
After all that had happened with Ross and Culling, it was more important than ever to unite Dragons and humans.
I had to remind people that we were on the same side—that Dragons were our allies.
Our harmless, cooperative allies…
At that very moment, I was consumed by golden Dragonsfire.
I screamed, though the flame only tickled me. Since my leotard was made of Dragonscales, it didn’t burn to ash. Which was important, since I loved my black and gold outfit.
Aneurin nuzzled me with his gigantic snout, and Dane did the same on the other side.
Then they rested their heads on the ground and looked up at me.
I knew what this meant…our routine had begun!
With one foot on each snout, I rose into the air as my mates lifted me. Then they flicked their heads back at the exact same time, and I somersaulted through the air.
Then, right before I hit the ground, Aneurin caught me in his massive golden talons.
I reclined in his claw, which was the same size as my body. I leaned my head back and stretched languidly like a dancer.
Aneurin growled with delight.
SUMMER
Ready?
ANEURIN
A Dragon is always ready.
DANE
For anything.
DANE
Just say the word, Princess.
I stood up and struck a pose with my hands in the air. At this moment, the crowd would go wild…
Then I crouched, ready to jump, and Aneurin threw me into the air. I tumbled, perfectly executing the somersault I had been practicing for weeks.
A puff of black mist surrounded me, and then I landed—on my feet—on Dane’s snout!
“Yes!” I said triumphantly.
I did a little victory dance. Aneurin, to my right, puffed smoke in approval.
I turned to look into Dane’s enormous, reptilian eye and kissed the smooth scales of his forehead.
I attempted to hug his huge head even though I couldn’t fit my arms all the way around it.
He lowered me to the ground. Then, excited for a little break, I reclined onto the soft green moss of the riverbank.
I giggled to myself. In the past month, my mates and I had rehearsed the sequence countless times. And it was finally coming together.
Though Dane and Aneurin never admitted it, I knew they enjoyed the routine too. At least I thought so…
Since the war had ended, we had some more free time on our hands. Which we were all enjoying. And no one more than me.
A moment later, my mates misted to their very naked human forms and sat next to me on either side.
“That was the best one yet!” I said excitedly.
“You were amazing,” Dane replied.
“Perfection, mouse,” Aneurin added.
I smiled at their praise and snuggled between them. Their naked bodies were warm and hard in contrast to the cool moss.
Dane leaned back onto his elbows so that the muscles of his abdomen became even more pronounced. Without thinking, I reached over to trace them with my finger.
He smiled at my advance, biting his lip. My eyes moved down his stomach to his perfect cock, which was starting to grow at my light caress.
I giggled and squirmed in the soft moss. It was getting hot for me too.
An arm grabbed my waist and pulled me back until I was lying down on the ground. I turned to Aneurin, who was holding me tightly, and kissed him lightly.
Behind me, Dane was rubbing the curve of my waist, moving down, holding my ass.
He slid his finger up the side of my leotard, stroking the soft skin of my ass. I felt his member, now rock hard, pushing against me.
“Let me help you out of this,” Aneurin whispered as he kissed beneath my ear.
He undid the buttons of the leotard that Silver had sewn for me from my mates’ scales.
When I felt the skin-tight outfit fall away, I turned to Dane.
He was already hard and stroking his cock gently. My breath caught, and I couldn’t look away.
He pulled back his skin so his tip strained forward, already wet with his desire. I turned over onto my knees and leaned down to taste it…
Dane moaned, throwing his head back. Behind me, Aneurin smacked my ass and bit it. Then he ran his tongue lower…
I tipped my hips up so I could feel him right where I needed him.
SUMMER
I want it. Now.
ANEURIN
Anything for you, little mouse.
DANE
As long as you keep sucking…
I felt Aneurin behind me, pushing between my legs as I opened for him as wide as I could.
His cock filled me up, and I pushed back onto him. His size drove me crazy, but I kept my lips tight around Dane’s cock. He stroked my hair lightly, encouraging me.
Aneurin reached under me and began stroking my clit in time with his shallow thrusts.
With each touch, he pushed me closer to my limit, and I moaned…sending vibrations around Dane’s throbbing member.
“Oh, little mouse,” Dane growled, “you want to take it all?”
Just his voice, so lost in lust, brought me over the edge.
I came, pleasure throbbing from my depths until stars burst behind my eyes. At the same moment, Dane came too, his cum pumping down my throat.
And behind me, Aneurin also released as my muscles hugged his swollen cock.
We collapsed onto the moss together.
I sighed, totally exhausted.
And totally satisfied.
“Good rehearsal, Princess.” Aneurin kissed my head.
I giggled, wedged in between my mates’ hot, sweaty bodies.
But I didn’t mind. Since the nightmare of the battle, my life had become a dream…
My feelings for Dane and Aneurin grew stronger every day. I felt like nothing could bring me down.
And I couldn’t help but wonder…
Is this what love feels like?
COLTON
“I had a feeling I would find you here,” Alexa called from the doorway of the armory.
Atop her raven-black hair, she wore a delicate crown of fine-spun gold. It was a crown for everyday activity.
I wore a red velvet robe…a king’s relaxation wear.
We were growing more accustomed to the royal way of life every day.
I stared at the bows, swords, and daggers mounted to the whole length of the dark, wooden wall.
The weapons represented the victories of Patter, bought with blood.
I knew it was a solemn place, for I was not one to romanticize war. The hardships of battle were a recent memory for me…still fresh and sore as an open wound.
The most painful part of it all was that the man who had killed my father, Jordan Culling, was still alive.
Rage was a fire inside me—hotter and more unruly than the smith’s smelt.
“Why do you like it here so much?” Alexa asked. I stretched out my arm and caught her thin waist. She touched my chest with delicate fingers.
“Because this room reminds me of my father,” I explained.
Perhaps, because I was a smith, I was drawn to the fine craftsmanship of the tools.
But really, it was because of the late King of Patter.
Though I had never met my father, the time I spent in this room allowed me to know him.
The room itself displayed my father’s character. Small plaques adorned the swords and bows, commemorating the men who had fallen while bearing them.
The room was a library as much as an armory. My father studied long and hard in preparation for battle, made clear by his meticulous notes and drawings.
I opened up one of his enormous leather-bound journals. The tome fell to a beautiful illustration of a sword that would make any smith drool with delight.
But I quickly noticed this was not just any sword…at the hilt were inscribed three letters:
CWP
Alexa, peering over my shoulder, noticed it too, for she gasped.
“My initials,” I whispered.
I looked closer, and I saw the sword was engraved with images as well: a canoe on a river, sheep watched by a young maid…
“This is the history of my mother’s people!” I gasped. My heart was racing as I took it in…
Though my mother had told me that my father never knew she had borne a child, this design showed me that he did know I was alive…
And he intended to honor me. With the finest weapon I had ever seen.
A small note in the bottom caught my attention.
No capable smith… it read.
I turned to Alexa, breathless and determined. In her eyes, there was undying support.
“I’m going to erect the sword that no one else could,” I whispered, “and with it, I will avenge the murder of my father.”
SUMMER
I watched from afar as nearly fifty men righted the poles of the tent. The structure rose from the ground in majestic white spires.
“Everything is coming together,” I whispered. My hard work would soon pay off. And the festival was going to be even better than I imagined.
I wished my mates were here to see it with me, but they had gone off to get a snack. I knew “snack” meant some enormous beast.
If they trail blood on the castle carpets again…
“An ambitious princess…” I heard from behind me.
Something about the sound made the hair at the back of my neck stand on end.
When I turned, I found that the man’s appearance was just as unnerving as his voice.
He was wrapped in a threadbare cloak, mostly concealing his creased, dirt-caked face. But I could make out a large scar that seemed to glow, as if lit from within…
I recognized that he was one of the nomads who traveled through the area in decorated wagons.
“Excuse me?” I asked.
He wore a slight smile, as if he were telling a joke. But I wasn’t sure what was so funny.
He went on: “Oh, it’s a compliment, miss. High praise.”
He moved toward me, his smile falling, and he was suddenly gravely serious.
I backed away.
“It’s an honor to make your acquaintance, Princess.”
He extended one willowy, dirty hand toward me, and, as if drawn by a magnet, I reached out one of my own.
As we touched, the whole of his eyes turned milky white.
But when I blinked, the terrifying sight was gone. The man released me and looked down at his hands as solemnly as a ghost.
STORM
I broke away from the young princess, my right fingers tracing where she had touched my left hand…
The girl had left a mark. Even though it was invisible, it was hot as Dragonsfire—and just as dangerous.
In that moment of contact, it all became abundantly clear. What Princess Summer had adopted as her personal cause was the greatest struggle of all…
If humans and Dragons couldn’t put aside their differences and see one another as equals, both species would meet a fiery end.
And this young woman was to play a pivotal role in shaping the story to come.
She was frightened of me, which I knew was nearly synonymous with respect. I turned into the sun so that my dreadful scar would be all the more clear to her…
I looked down at my hand, covered with the dirt of many Kingdoms.
Though it was in my soul to roam, I knew I could not go far.
I needed to keep an eye on this ambitious young woman…
The fate of all Dragonkind could depend upon her.
