DANIELLE
âHello, baby! Iâm so glad youâre finally home. Iâve been waiting for over a week for you to return from your trip.â Sheâs wrapped around him, and she kisses him on the cheek.
âEricka, what are you doing here?â Danny untangles himself from her.
âCashing in on our contract. We have three months, then weâll be married to each other. Just like the contract says.â She tries to reach for him again.
Danny has a scowl on his face now as he looks at her. âI donât think so; I donât know how you think thatâs going to work either. Youâre trying to pull something, but itâs not going to happen.â
I look at him with my mouth still open. âHoney, you know this woman?â
She turns her eyes on me, then wrinkles her nose up. âYou must be that skank that took my future husband without my knowledge. Too bad you have to get a divorce now.â
âDonât you talk to my wife like that! If you value your life, then you had better keep that smart mouth of yours shut.â Danny steps away from her, walking over to me.
She follows, jabbing a finger in his back. âI can say whatever I want to. Youâll have to deal with me for the rest of your life!â
He moves so fast, and he has her pinned against the wall before I can blink. She screams out in pain for a second, then looks at him, groaning.
âOh, so youâre the one who likes it rough, huh? I can definitely handle that,â she says as she runs her fingers down his chest.
âSHUT UP!â His hateful eyes are focused on her fully now.
âI donât want to hear your mouth. If I do, itâll be taped shut, and then youâll be put in a place where youâll never see the light again. Understand?â His voice is low and deadly right now.
âYou canât do that to me!â She looks at him with wide eyes. âIâm supposed to be your wife soon.â
He leans in closely and looks at her with fire in his eyes. âI can do whatever I want. If you ruin my life, then I can also ruin yours. Have you forgotten who I am?â
âThatâs why Iâm here, to marry the man everyone is scared of. I know Iâll be safe on your arm, and no one will ever try to do anything to me since they fear you so much.â
She smirks as she runs her hands over his muscular arms.
âThey may not, but whatâs to say I wonât?â He backs away from her a little, but heâs still holding her against the wall.
âI can also promise you that youâll never be on my arm. I have the woman I want on my arm, and it is NOT YOU!â He makes sure he says the last two words very slowly.
She laughs, then locks eyes with me. âHave you forgotten? We have a contract that says Iâm supposed to. Not her.â She points her skinny finger in my direction.
âThat contract is dead to me. You left the county, but now you show up just a few months before it runs out? Something isnât right about all this.â Danny shakes his head slowly.
âI came back to collect on it. I wasnât ready to settle down yet, but now I am, and Iâm here to be all yours.â She has an evil smile on her face.
Danny smirks while dropping her off the wall. She coughs a little as her hands try to grab him. He moves away quickly, and he grabs me, wrapping me up in his arms protectively.
âDONâT touch me, you filthy whore,â he growls at her in a deadly low voice. âI cannot stand to be in the same room as you right now. Get out of my house!â
She regains her composure, then takes a step toward him. âThis is our house, honey. Iâll start having my things moved in here tomorrow. I hope your bedroom is big; I love big bedrooms.â
âNot one thing of yours will come into this house until I say so. It will sit out on the front porch and get rained on and ruined if needed.â
She scoffs, then looks around the house. âWeâll see about that. My truck will be here at eight in the morning. Hopefully, we can change this around some. Itâs too dark and dreary in here.â
She clicks her heels along the tile floor as she walks out the front door.
Danny turns, slamming his fist into the wall behind him. I can feel the waves of anger coming off him. I walk up and touch his arm. He looks at me, then immediately calms down.
He grabs my waist and pulls me to his broad chest, holding me there and kissing my forehead.
âI swear this will not happen. She isnât welcome here until we get this resolved.â He glares at his men, who are standing around the room. âDo you understand me?â
He looks around the room at everyone as they all nodâservants, bodyguards, and all of us. We look at him, but Iâm very worried about him.
Heâs raging in anger; his body is hot with sweat pouring out of him.
His dad steps forward, looking at the two of us. âIâm getting my copy of the contract out of where it has been sealed. It may take a day or two, but we have to have a court order to do it.
âI set it up that way so it couldnât be tampered with. Mine is the real thing and hasnât been looked at since the day we signed it. After that, it was taken to be sealed.â
âHow could you do this, Dad?â Dannyâs body is vibrating in anger right now. âArranging a marriage for a child like that?â
âIt was a business deal back then.â His father has straightened up to his full height now. âErickaâs father had nothing to pay with at the time. He owed me a lot of money, so we came up with this deal.â
Steven steps forward, glaring at his father now. âThis sucks, Dad; itâs not like weâre pieces of property that can be sold off.â
âI know it was a mistake now.â His fatherâs eyes are full of sorrow.
âThen, it was combining two families for more money and power. Now, I can see it was a huge mistake. Weâll get you out of this, son, I promise.â He lays a hand on Dannyâs shoulder.
Dannyâs eyes have tears in them as he speaks. âYouâd better. I wonât leave her; I cannot do that, Dad. Sheâs my wife, my love, and my soulmate all in one. It would kill me to have to let her go now.â
âYou wonât; I promise you that. Weâll find a way out of it,â his father says, patting him on the shoulder lightly.
Danny grabs my hand and basically drags me up the steps into the bedroom. My clothes are off me in no time, and so are his. He has me on the bed, quickly burying himself deeply inside me.
I know heâs frustrated; heâs pounding me hard and fastâno foreplay, nothing. Just our bodies moving together rapidly. Soon, we both release, and he puts his head to mine.
âI didnât hurt you, did I?â His voice is soft with a hint of worry in it.
Smiling, I put my hand against his face and look at him. âNo, you were frustrated and needed to calm yourself down. This is your escape, to be able to do that.â
He kisses me passionately, then looks me in the eyes. âYou understand me so well. What did I ever do to deserve you?â
I giggle a little as I look at him. His hair is messed up, hanging down in his sexy face. âPut an ad in the paper.â
He bursts out laughing, then kisses me deeply. He lies down beside me, and we lie there, curled up in each otherâs arms for a while. Finally, we get up, take a shower, then head back downstairs.
Cory smiles as we appear in the room. âWell, did you work all that anger out of you?â
âShut up, Cory.â Danny gives him a look that isnât very nice. âKeep your stupid questions to yourself, please.â
We all laugh at him, then sit down to watch TV.
âSo, whatâs your favorite?â Steven looks over at me with a grin.
âI have a lot,â I answer, shrugging my shoulders. âRomance, action, scary, and comedy.â
âWow, that is a big number of movies that you like, then.â Cory grins as he throws an arm over my shoulder for a side hug.
âI got one.â Steven flips through the movie selection on the TV.
He puts on an action movie. We grab drinks and snacks from the kitchen.
When itâs over, Iâve fallen asleep on the couch in Dannyâs lap. Bailey is asleep on Coryâs chest, and Steven is snoring on the floor.
