Running Into You

Aimee Dierking

Chapter 4

Liam looked her up and down and immediately found his pants getting tight. She had a beautiful body, and the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra didn’t help the situation at all.

He could easily picture himself sucking on those amazing tits until she screamed out his name.

Maggie suddenly felt very self-conscious under this stranger’s lustful gaze. She silently cursed herself for not putting a bra on earlier.

To make matters worse, she had picked a thin shirt, so her ‘great rack’ was on full display for the man in front of her.

“What do you want? I don’t want to repeat myself,” Maggie said flatly.

Liam smiled and replied, “Hi, um, I was going to bring you back your cell phone. You dropped it when we bumped into each other.”

“No, we didn’t bump into each other, you ran me over and knocked me into a puddle!”

Liam realized that this would take longer than he thought. He sighed and looked at her for a moment.

“Can I come in for just a moment? I would like to apologize and give you your phone.”

Maggie stared at him for a minute, trying to determine what she should do.

“Please?” he asked in a soft voice.

Maggie relented. He seemed genuine. She nodded and moved to the side to allow him to enter, noticing his warm smile as he walked into the apartment.

Liam heard her close the door behind him as he looked around at the bright and clean rooms.

“Sorry, but I have a cat and he really doesn’t like anyone, so…” Maggie stopped mid-sentence and saw Gus rubbing on the man’s legs, purring.

“Well, today he seems to like me,” he said, bending down to rub Gus behind the ears.

Maggie felt like she was in the twilight zone and crossed her arms in a huff. “You said you were going to apologize, so get on with it.”

Liam looked at her again, trying desperately to breathe normally and not show how turned on he was by the very sight of her.

“My name is Liam Olsen, and I am deeply sorry for my behavior earlier. I want to make it up to you and give you back your phone.”

She didn’t know what to think. Any other day, a hot man with a British accent like the one in her living room would leave her a quivering, wet mess. But after the day she had, she had no time for men.

“Thank you for that. Now, what about my phone?”

“I found it on the ground after you left and I tried to call after you, but you were too far away. So I had my staff find your name and my tech guy look over your phone.

“The water had damaged it, so I had him replace it and transfer all your information to a new one.”

“Ah…thanks for that.”

He leaned over and handed her the new phone. Sure enough, it was the exact same phone and case, just newer.

“I hadn’t realized that I had even lost it. I came home in such a rush and took a shower.”

He almost groaned at the thought of watching her shower, but somehow kept that to himself.

“May I sit down?” he asked politely.

She ushered him to the kitchen table and offered him something to drink. He accepted a bottle of water and looked at her.

“Maggie, I hope you don’t mind, but I was in contact with Sam Jennings, and he told me a little of your situation. I would like to help you in any way I can.”

“Of course you would! Who wouldn’t want to help? Are you looking for a charity case, Mr. Olsen?”

“Liam, please. I don’t think of you as a charity case, Maggie. I see a beautiful woman in need of help from a very good lawyer, and I fit that bill.”

“And you think you are a better lawyer than Mr. Jennings?”

“Oh, I know I am, darling.”

She couldn’t believe his arrogance!

“Seriously? You are an arrogant prick!”

“And don’t forget exceedingly handsome and sexy!”

“Oh my god! Please stop talking!”

Liam smirked at her while he sat and watched her temper rise. The more upset she became, the sexier she appeared.

“Seriously, Liam, Mr. Jennings said I don’t have much of a case unless they get arrested. They don’t own anything that I can put a lien on to try and recoup my savings.

“I just have to pray that the credit card company accepts the police report and doesn’t come after me for the fraudulent card charges.”

“I can help with that if you will let me. I can make sure that the company dismisses the charges, and you don’t have to worry about it anymore.”

She looked at him like he was from another planet. “And can you use your magic wand to get my savings back too? So I don’t have to work two jobs to make my rent this month?”

Liam looked at her with warm, luxurious brown eyes.

“I will see what I can do. But you have to give me permission first.”

She laughed at the whole situation. “Fine! You have my permission to help. I don’t think you could make it any worse. Get my file from Mr. Jennings and do whatever you want. I don’t care anymore.

“I have been burned by so many people at this point, what harm can letting one more guy into my life do? The only thing you could do to make this situation worse would be to get me pregnant or give me an STD!”

He raised an eyebrow. “Pregnant or an STD? Those are my only options? What about just mind-blowing sex?”

“In your dreams, Mr. Olsen! In your dreams!”

Liam took that as his cue to leave. He stood up, opened the door, and turned to face her with a sexy smile.

“In my dreams for now, Maggie, but soon a reality. I will be in touch…”

Maggie watched him walk down the hallway and around the corner, wondering what the hell just happened.

She was confused, but went back inside and sat on the couch, trying to make sense of it all. Her phone beeped and she picked it up to see a message from 'Liam' on the screen.

“He programmed his number into my phone!” she yelled to no one.

It was so nice to have officially met you, Maggie. I will be in touch about your case. Sweet Dreams, I know mine will be;)

“Oh my god!” was all she could say as she got up and went to the kitchen. She poured herself a large glass of wine, turned on a movie, and snuggled up with Gus.

Her life had to get better, and a sexy British man with incredibly distracting dimples sniffing around her was the last thing she needed.
