A. Makkelie
“Wait, what?” Sage looked at her uncle.
Aries and Leo were tense and looking at her. No one said a thing, and it felt like everyone knew something she didn’t.
“Could someone please tell me what the fuck is going on?” She made eye contact with Rick, but he didn’t say a thing.
“How can I be named after a constellation my whole life and not know about it?” she almost screamed in Rick’s face, and she felt the pain her efforts inflicted.
She placed her hand on the wound and tried to breathe slower.
“There is so much I need to tell you, Sagittarius, but I can’t right now.”
Sage took a step toward her uncle. “Like hell you can’t!” Another wave of pain went through her body.
Elijah grabbed her and kept her upright. “Sage, please,” Elijah begged.
Did he know it too?
“Did everyone know?”
A tear fell down Rick’s cheek. “Besides your sisters, everyone knows your full name.”
“Why didn’t anybody tell me? Why was my name always some secret no one could know?” she screamed.
“I’ll explain everything, but you need to calm down and rest. You just woke up, Sage.” He started walking away.
No, he couldn’t do this!
“Rick!”
“It’s not time for you to know yet!” he yelled back at her. She looked at him with wide eyes. He had never yelled at her before. He sighed as he saw her shocked face.
“Trust me when I say that I’ll explain everything when it’s time for you to know.” That was the last thing he said to her before he walked away, and she was left standing with too many questions.
Why didn’t he want to tell it? Why was her name such a big secret? It was just a name…
Sage turned to face Elijah, who had the same guilt on his face as her uncle had. “I’m sorry. We weren’t allowed to tell you anything.”
Sage ignored him and looked at the two alphas.
“Well, I guess you don’t have to be jealous anymore,” Leo said.
Sage snorted. “What the hell does all of this mean?”
Aries sighed. “Sage, trust your uncle. He will tell you when it’s time for you to know.”
“Oh, stop with that shit!” she snapped at him.
He looked at her with a surprised face.
“It can’t be a coincidence that I meet two alphas who are named after a constellation, then find out that I am also named after one.”
“It isn’t, but we can’t tell you anything for your safety.” She rolled her eyes. “Not until you turn twenty,” Aries said.
Her eyes snapped back to his as he closed his and cursed himself.
“How do you know I’m nineteen?” she asked.
“Because your uncle told us,” he answered, but she wasn’t convinced. Something else was going on.
She shrugged. “Fine, don’t tell me.” She turned toward the house and started walking. If nobody wanted to tell her, she was going to find out for herself.
She was an astronomer-in-training no less. If there was anything written in the stars of books about what could be happening right now, she would find it.
She walked in and went straight to her room.

After a shower, she cleaned her bandages. She could see two cuts Doc had to make.
One was on her right side and the other was a little below her right breast. She sighed and put the bandages over them. Those would leave scars for sure.
She dressed in clean underwear, jeans, a midnight blue loose-fitted top, and her flip-flops. She let her hair hang loose as she walked down.
Rick was sitting in front of the TV and she knew he was lost in it. She walked out the front door and headed toward the library.
A lot of wolves gave her strange looks as she passed them by, but she didn’t care right now. She was going to find out what the fuck had happened.
It took her a while to find the library. So, when she finally did, she let out a sigh of relief. She pushed the double doors open and was greeted by the old lady at the desk.
“Hello, young lady.”
Sage gave her a small smile and walked up to her. “Good day.”
“Can I help you with something?” she asked.
“Yes, where can I find the books about astronomy and Greek myths?” Sage asked her.
The lady gave her a surprised look. “First floor in section D.”
“Thank you so much,” Sage said as she walked in.
Her mouth fell open at the sight. The library was huge!
It was bigger than the one she had at home. The place was filled with large bookcases, and in the middle was a circle with beautiful wooden furniture and a fireplace.
There was also a piano, guitar, and violin available to use. At the back was a beautiful large staircase, the likes of which you only saw in those million-dollar mansions.
Sage closed her mouth when she saw some wolves chuckling at her. She walked through the middle and walked up the stairs. The first floor was a large circle with bookshelves along the walls.
They all had a letter above them which showed which section the books belonged to. In the middle was another fireplace and three large couches.
On the right was a table with six computers. On the left were some empty tables and some chairs. There was one female sitting there with a pen in her mouth, a book, and a notebook.
She was reading the book intently as if she had to memorize every single word. On the couches were two nerds with glasses and a book entitled How to Build a Computer.
Sage walked toward the shelf with the letter D and grabbed the books about the constellations from the point of view of a scientist and the Greek mythologies associated with them.
In total, she grabbed three books and walked to the table. She sat down a little further from the girl and opened the first book. Sage smiled at the drawings of the constellations and started reading.
After reading two of them completely, she had started on the one about Greek mythologies. When she was halfway through, having learned nothing, she sat back in her chair and groaned.
How could she not find anything?
“You okay? You’ve been reading those books nonstop for about an hour and a half.” Sage looked up at the girl who had an ink stain on the corner of her mouth, which also covered her lip and teeth.
“Eh, yeah. You have something on your mouth,” Sage said as she pointed to her lip.
The girl grabbed a mirror out of her bag. “Fuck!” she yelled.
She was immediately shushed by the others in the library.
“Shush yourself!” she snapped at them. Sage chuckled as the girl sighed. “Well, there goes my date for tonight.”
“Was it a first date?” Sage asked.
“No, my mate and I have a deal to go on a date once a month because I like to be treated extra special every once in a while,” the girl said.
Sage chuckled again.
“I’m Mikaela,” the girl said.
“Sage,” Sage said with a smile.
“I know, you are the alpha’s daughter of the Lost Moon pack,” Mikaela said.
Sage snorted. “Word travels fast.”
“Well, yeah, what did you expect?” Mikaela asked.
Sage ran her hand through her hair. “Don’t know.”
Mikaela smiled at her and looked at the books she was reading. “Why are you reading these?” Mikaela gave her a questioning look.
“I’m trying to find out something.”
“About the galaxy and myths?”
Sage chuckled at her face. “I’m an astronomer-in-training so I’m used to reading stuff like this.”
She chuckled. “Then you must love the names of the two alphas.”
Sage stiffened and looked at the book in front of her.
“Did I say something wrong?” Mikaela asked.
Sage sighed and looked up. “No…” She looked at the drawing of the constellation Sagittarius. “A lot has happened recently, and I don’t know what to think about anything anymore.”
“I’m sorry.”
Sage looked at her. “It’s fine.”
It was quiet between them for a while until Mikaela suddenly started packing her things.
“Come on.” Mikaela threw her bag on her back and grabbed the books Sage was reading. She put them back in the section and walked back to Sage.
“Where are we going?” Sage said as Mikaela grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the exit.
“You need some fun and not those dusty old books.”
Sage wanted to protest but the she-wolf gave her one glare and she knew she needed to keep her mouth shut.
Mikaela’s glare turned into a grin and she winked at her. Sage rolled her eyes and let the girl pull her to who-knows-where.
They exited the library and walked toward the pack house of the Wolf Moon pack. Sage tried to pull her arm away, but it was no luck. Mikaela gave her a questioning look.
“I don’t think I’m supposed to go in there.”
Mikaela rolled her eyes. “It’s not a restricted area where toxic waste is stored, Sage.”
Sage didn’t get a chance to answer as she was pulled inside of the pack house.
Everyone stopped with what they were doing and looked at the two girls.
Mikaela rolled her eyes. “Have you guys never seen a human or something? Mind your own business!” she yelled at them.
Sage bit her lip to keep herself from laughing.
“We’re all looking at you, ink lip!”
She ran to the kitchen and started cleaning her mouth. Sage just stood there as everyone resumed their work. This wasn’t awkward at all…
Mikaela came back with as clean a mouth as she was capable. She grabbed Sage’s arm and pulled her to the stairs. Instead of going up, she led them down to the basement.
With every step they took, the music became louder. They stopped in front of a door that Mikaela pushed open.
Sage was greeted by a beautiful inside pool, a bar, a jacuzzi on the right side, and some lounge chairs on the left. There were no windows, but the lights were magical.
In the pool, some guys were throwing a ball at each other. There were two guys with girls hanging around them at the bar, talking with the bartender, and there was one guy in the jacuzzi.
At least, she thought he was alone, until she saw a girl surfacing and kissing the guy. Okay, she was not going in there.
“Here!” Mikaela yelled above the music. She gave her a bathing suit and pushed her toward the changing room.
Sage rolled her eyes and decided not to argue. She just hoped the bathing suit would fit.
After she had changed, she looked at herself in the mirror and was glad that it wasn’t too big or too small. It was a black bathing suit that had a halter bikini top and simple bottoms.
The bandage was visible, and she knew she wasn’t going to swim. She sighed and walked out.
Mikaela also walked out of her changing booth. She was wearing a blue bikini, which looked great with her long blonde hair and green eyes. Her body had all the right curves.
Mikaela looked at her bandage. “If you have any trouble breathing because of the warmth, just let me know, okay?”
“You also know what happened?” Sage asked.
“Yeah, if one of your alphas almost kills a human who lives in the pack, it’s not something that goes unnoticed,” Mikaela said.
Sage smiled and gave her a nod.
They walked back to the pool.
“Adam!” Mikaela yelled and ran toward a guy Sage didn’t see right away. Adam turned around, caught Mikaela, and gave her a long kiss.
Sage slapped her face and groaned. Of course, she was his mate. That means he was going to be here the whole time.
Great. Just great.
