I met my mate as a child.

I was lost in the woods, and his calming voice guided me to safety without ever revealing himself.

Since then, he’s watched over me but never showed himself. I yearn to touch him, to hold him.

Yet still, he lurks in the shadows, never claiming me.

I wonder if there’s something wrong with me. Am I not good enough for him?
