Ana Green knows exactly what kind of man she should avoid.
Powerful. Older. Possessive. And definitely her ex-boyfriend’s future father-in-law.
After discovering her long-term boyfriend’s affair with the CEO’s daughter, Ana walks away from both the relationship and the toxic company they worked for together. The last thing she needs is another complication — especially one with Lucas Hale, the devastatingly attractive billionaire she’s spent the last year secretly fantasising about.
Lucas is everything Ana shouldn’t want: commanding, dangerously protective, and completely irresistible. One explosive encounter at a crowded bar shatters every boundary between them, igniting a relationship neither of them can hide from for long.
But loving Lucas comes with consequences.
A scorching age-gap romance filled with obsession, banter, public temptation, emotional vulnerability, and a hero who falls first — and falls hard
Chapter 1: The Bar
ANA
Friday night at last. Weaving my way through the heaving crowds, I headed straight to the end of the bar where Sally was waiting for me.
She stood and smiled, pulling me into a tight hug. “Finally! I thought you’d never make it.”
I chuckled as we settled into the seats she’d kept free. “I’m only ten minutes late, Sal. I couldn’t exactly race out of there on my last day. Do you want another?”
She shook her head, and I signaled to the bartender. I didn’t even have to ask. John just pushed an Amaretto Sour into my hand with a wink and moved on.
Turning back toward Sally, I sighed internally at the look of pity on her face. I loved her to pieces, but Sally was my most “married” friend.
Hopelessly in love with her husband, who was one of Nick’s best friends, she was still crushed by our breakup. “How are you holding up?”
“It’s been a long week, a long few months really. I’m looking forward to a fresh start.”
“Oh, Ana. I’m so sorry. I swear I’m going to be the worst wedding guest ever. I’m definitely going to get drunk and tell Nick he deserves to be marrying the most vanilla woman in the world…”
I chuckled at that. She was boring. Entitled and boring. Nick deserved every second of it. Placing my hand on her leg, I gave it a squeeze.
“I’m fine, Sal, okay? It was my choice to leave. I’m glad that he’s moved on. Maybe he’ll stop blowing up my phone now. To freedom, yes?”
“Freedom.”
The truth was, I’d dodged a bullet with Nick. I’d only suspected his flirtations when I set him that test with Cassey, and was just going to walk out for the night to give him the experience he clearly wanted.
One night for him to get it out of his system before settling down. I’d left him a note on the door, telling him to enjoy Cassey for the next twelve hours, then meet me for brunch at our favorite spot. If he had kept his hands to himself, then I would have joined them…
I was just booking into my hotel for the night when I’d bumped into one of our (very drunk) mutual work colleagues, and it had all come tumbling out. The affair. Almost a year. The daughter of our CEO. And she was twenty-one.
I broke up with him the next day. I’m not going to say I didn’t cry, break things, and eat my weight in chocolate, but that was a year ago. I was well and truly over it. Oh, and he was getting married tomorrow. On their two-year anniversary…
“Did the bridezilla ever stop trying to mess with you?”
His fiancée had made my life hell from the moment she joined the company as all-rounder intern/CEO in training. In her eyes, at least, she was the boss.
Tilting my head up, I groaned. “I’m relieved to be moving on, let’s just say that. The pro bono deal is wrapped up, and I can leave with my head held high.”
Sally smiled. “Yeah, you can, girl! Leaving on your own terms. Love it. She’ll get hers eventually.”
I bit my lip. “Yeah. Her father gave her a dressing down in front of the whole office last week. Someone blabbed about her attempts to intimidate me, and he took a hard stand. I’m not sure that helped though…”
“No?” Sal tilted her head to get a read on me.
“No. He’s only forty-one, you know. Had her real young.” I bit my lip to hold back the smirk.
She smiled in response. “Oh? Is he hot?”
“He is incredibly fucking hot. So hot that I need to keep a change of panties in my bag for whenever we have one-on-one meetings. It’s distracting, honestly.”
What I didn’t say was that I might also be a tiny bit in love with him. Gorgeous, funny, intelligent, and philanthropic too.
Almost a year of working closely on the charitable arm of his work, well, of course I’d fallen for him. The one man I really couldn’t have.
“How distracting?”
I smiled at her teasingly. “You’ll see him tomorrow. All dressed up in a tux probably. Swoon. I’ll make a bet that even you consider leaving your husband at least once during the day. He’s that hot.”
A warm hand pressed into my lower back suddenly, dipping low to brush over my ass. Just before I turned my head to chastise the man groping me so openly, his scent hit me. Deep and spicy. Oh God. He was right behind me.
Sally was laughing, and I tried to control myself as the hand started to rub circles low on my back. His thumb tracing the crease of my ass. Fuck! He wasn’t my boss anymore.
An attraction had been building all year, and there was no point in denying I wanted him. Badly. Maybe just one night to get it out of our systems? Fuck it. If he was going to play it like this, then we could play.
The place was packed enough that there were groups chatting close all around us. I couldn’t whisper to Sally, and I knew he’d be able to hear every word if he was listening in.
A rush of excitement flooded me, thinking about what we could do in such a crowded place. As if reading my mind, his fingers followed the crease of my ass again and dipped just lightly between my legs. Oh yes! I loved being naughty in public.
Sal recovered and gave me the setup I needed. “Tell me everything…”
“Sally…”
“Come on! You know I live vicariously through you. Spill. The. Tea.”
I adjusted slightly onto his hand and started to describe the man behind me. Pretending to be abashed while feeling around for his buttons. Let’s start with a classic.
“Just… God, Sal, he was so daddy in that meeting. It made me remember how fun a dominant man can be.”
A low rumble sounded next to me, and I crossed my legs a little tighter. I knew he’d love that.
“Daddy?”
“So daddy. He was protecting me…it was hot. I fantasized that he’d ordered me into his office and fucked me right there, for everyone to see. I had to go to the bathroom for some ‘self-care’ if you know what I mean.”
“Ana! At work? You’re so bad!”
Long fingers pressed farther between my legs, and I bit my lip to keep in the moan. Oh God. Just a little farther and he’d be able to make me cum right here. Could Sally tell?
“I couldn’t help it, Sally. Oh. My. God.” I shifted in my seat again, feeling the tip of his fingers graze my clit, then back a little lower.
I swallowed and tilted my head slightly to the side so that he could see my face. “His arms, hands…those fingers.”
I could feel the heat of his gaze on me, still not daring to make eye contact. To Sally, I was making an exaggerated show for the story, but he knew the truth. This was all for him.
“He’s the kind of man that you just know could make you cum in under a minute.”
“Ana!” Sally squealed and hit my arm lightly. “You can’t say things like that! Poor man…”
As soon as I’d uttered the challenge, his fingers had moved right up between my thighs and started to rub my clit perfectly. If not for the crowd around us, I was sure that someone would be able to see. Oh fuck. I was going to cum.
Thankfully, Sally excused herself to the bathroom before I had to find a reason to leave. His hand slipped away, a commanding tug causing my barstool to twirl so that I was directly between his legs.
My breath caught as one hand moved up to grip my inner thigh. He shifted his body close, lips brushing my neck as he spoke my name on a growl that had me clenching. “Ana.”
“Lucas.”
He bit and kissed along my jawline before pressing one lingering kiss against my lips. Delicious. Deep and masculine.
Before I could say anything, his hand moved smoothly between my legs. “Let’s see if you need those spare panties you told your friend about.”
His groan as he met my soaked core brought even more slickness out. “Oh fucking hell, Ana. You’re not wearing any?”
Two fingers plunged into me at once, curling up and dragging off my G-spot hard before withdrawing. Heat blazed between us, his pupils dilated even further as he started to explore me. Hidden by the crowd.
The taboo of being touched in public had me creaming around him.
I had to take back some control though. “You ruined my last pair in our meeting this morning. You’ve got fifty seconds left, by the way.”
Lucas pulled back and assessed me. “To make you cum?”
I nodded, and he curled his fingers to perfectly catch my G-spot again, dragging them out so deliberately that I had to kiss him to cover the whimper of pleasure. “Yes.”
He swallowed, speaking through kisses as he pressed into me again. “I knew you’d be like this. What do I get if I do? Will you go down on your knees for me?”
I nodded. “Anything.”
“Anything? Oh, baby girl…you really shouldn’t have promised me that.”
As soon as the challenge was set, he started the perfect combination of movements over my clit. Pinching the hood up, circling, a hard knuckle grazing with quick rubs. All while kissing and nipping up the column of my neck.
Good God! He switched directions, and white started to blur my vision.
“I can feel you pulsing around me, princess. You want me to win, don’t you? Want me to fuck you so hard tonight that you can’t remember your name.”
I barely suppressed the whimper of need, clenching hard around him as my world started to tilt. Right on the edge.
“I want to say something clever right now, but I’m going to cum any second.” I tried so hard not to make a sound, thankful when his lips covered mine and I was able to moan into his mouth.
My thighs trembled with his hand caught tight between them, my eyes shut as the pleasure washed over me in waves. Heaven.
“Perfect…” The lust in his eyes made my breath catch. Fuck, I wanted so much more than just one night. Maybe a week…
Smiling slowly, I made a show of looking at my watch over his shoulder. “Oh dear, sir. You missed your target.”
He chuckled into my neck. “Were you dissatisfied, Ana?”
“No. Though I might enjoy your punishment even more.”
“Punishment?”
Nudging his zipper down, I slipped my hand inside and cupped the head of his cock. “Yes.”
His throat worked, those dark eyes never leaving mine as I collected the pre-cum beading in his slit before circling the head and jerking the first inch into my palm.
“Fuck, baby girl. Are you going to make me cum right here?”
I smirked at the shock on his face, pulling his jacket closer to hide my hand movements as I quickened the pace. “Do you want to cum, Lucas? Here. Surrounded by people you employ. Do you enjoy knowing that anyone could be watching this? Watching you fall apart for me?”
He nodded, a flush on his cheeks as his breath started to come out in pants. “Fuck. You’re so dirty.”
I let out a hum, moving in to press a small kiss to his neck before pulling back. “I just want to please you. What else would you like, sir? To see me dropping to my knees right here? Letting you fuck my face and cum down my throat in front of everyone?”
He coughed, his hips bucking slightly into my hand. “Yeah…fuck, yeah. I bet you’d take it all, wouldn’t you?”
I ran my thumb through his slit again, and he groaned lowly. He was close.
“You’d fill my throat all up, wouldn’t you, Daddy? With this big cock of yours. I bet you taste delicious. Are you going to give me your cum? Give it to me right now?”
His large hand came up to cup my face, his lips joining with mine an instant before his cum filled my hand. He buried his face in my neck and let out a low groan that had me clenching. Fuck. This was so hot.
His lips pressed into my neck as I quickly tucked him in and zipped his pants back up.
I looked around the crowd. No one was watching. Sally was still in the queue for the bathrooms. To anyone else, we’d just shared a kiss. My hand was full of his cum though, sticky and hot.
