Chapter Three

Rose

Anna had left me alone to rest and digest the flood of memories that had returned.

When I woke up, the handsome stranger who had pushed me against the wall was sitting by my bed, gripping my hand.

I tried to shift without waking him, but he sprang up, ready for a fight.

I stifled a laugh at his reaction, but his smoldering smirk took my breath away.

“You find that amusing?” he asked, a playful glint in his eyes.

“You have no idea,” I replied, grinning back at him.

“By the way, I’m Elisjah. You didn’t ask when you first bumped into me,” he said, winking at me.

“Well, sorry, sweetheart. I wasn’t exactly in the right frame of mind then,” I retorted.

“We’d just watched a bunch of horror movies, and I wasn’t expecting to run into Prince Charming when I heard a noise.”

He laughed heartily at that, and the sound made my thighs clench. I bit my lip as I watched him, but he suddenly stopped and glared at me.

“I can smell your desire, woman!”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I stammered, blushing furiously.

I couldn’t meet Elisjah’s gaze, but when I finally mustered the courage to look at him, I found his golden eyes fixed on me, his lips wet from licking them.

I got out of bed and limped towards him, drawn by an irresistible need to touch him.

He growled, a warning that stopped me in my tracks.

He’s one of them.

I’d heard about shifters, but I’d never believed in them. Jack had always dismissed them as tales meant to scare kids into staying safe.

I’d stopped asking about them after Jack got angry at me one too many times.

“You’re one of them, aren’t you?” I asked, my voice filled with curiosity and excitement.

He growled again and nodded.

I continued to approach him, trusting my instincts that told me he was safe. I wasn’t scared; I was intrigued.

He grabbed my wrists and pulled me against him, his breath warm against my neck as he sniffed me.

He began to kiss my neck, and I moaned softly.

I felt him smile against my skin before he nipped my ear, making my knees buckle.

I can’t believe how much he affects me.

I pulled back to look at him, expecting to see his sea-green eyes, but instead, I was met with golden orbs.

“He doesn’t want to let you go. Please, don’t be scared.”

“I’m not,” I assured him.

I balanced on my good leg and pulled his face down to mine.

Kissing him was like setting off fireworks inside me. His kisses were rough, passionate, and I loved every second of it.

His tongue sought entrance into my mouth, but before I let him in, I bit his lower lip. He responded with a slap on my ass and a low growl.

My body responded instantly, pressing closer to him, my breasts rubbing against his chest.

He growled again, and I pressed harder against him, seeking more friction. His knee was between my legs, and I was grinding against him.

He held my head in place while his other hand squeezed my ass.

I grabbed his hair, pulling it roughly, and he moaned into my mouth.

My other hand slid down his body, feeling his muscles, until I reached his growing erection and gave it a gentle squeeze.

I was so lost in the moment that I didn’t notice Noah entering the room.

Elisjah started to turn us around, and I braced myself to be pushed against a wall.

But instead, I backed into Noah’s arms.

I broke the kiss with Elisjah to look at Noah, his golden eyes staring back at me.

I bit my lip, and Noah took it as an invitation, pressing his lips to mine.

I didn’t turn around. Instead, I pulled Elisjah closer, guiding his mouth to my neck.

Elisjah began to kiss my neck, his hands sliding under my shirt to tease my breasts.

I bit Noah’s lip, and he growled, kissing me harder. His hand gripped my hip while his other hand slipped inside my pajama pants.

“Mmm, no panties. I like it.”

I pressed my ass against him, feeling his erection against my lower back.

Elisjah grabbed my breasts, pinching my nipples.

“Oh God, babe, you’re so wet, so ready for us.”

“Wait, wait, wait!”

“We don’t want to,” they said together, making me giggle.

“I know, I don’t want to stop either. But I can’t do this. Not with Jack still in my life.”

They both growled, making me freeze.

“He’s not part of your life anymore, babe. Not since you told him you want a divorce,” Noah whispered in my ear before biting my neck.

“That loser doesn’t deserve a queen like you,” Elisjah added, biting my other ear.

I lost my train of thought for a moment before regaining my composure.

“Please, guys, I can’t do this. Not until I’ve had all my questions answered and Jack is out of my life. He threatened me.”

Elisjah stiffened and stepped away from me. He started to shake, and I was worried he was angry.

I stepped out of Noah’s arms to comfort Elisjah, but he was laughing.

What is wrong with him?

“I thought you were mad at me. But you’re laughing at all this.”

“My beautiful flower, you have no idea what we’ll do to that thing if he ever dares to look your way again.”

Elisjah’s sea-green eyes were turning golden again, and I knew his other side was close to the surface.

“Elisjah, calm down. You don’t want to cause a scene,” Noah warned.

“What is he talking about?” I asked, looking from Elisjah to Noah.

“Nothing, flower, just ignore him,” Elisjah said, glaring at his brother.

“No... Noah, what did you mean by ‘don’t cause a scene again’?”

Noah just stood there, grinning at Elisjah, who was shaking his head, begging him not to say anything.

I looked from Noah to Elisjah, waiting for an answer that I clearly wasn’t going to get, so I did the one thing that I thought would work.

“Fine! Don’t tell me. But neither of you will touch this”—I ran my hands down my body, pressing against my sensitive area and moaning softly—“until I get answers.

“And not just any answers—I want the truth. You can both leave now. I’m tired and need to rest.”

They both started to protest, but I ignored them and climbed back into bed.

I gestured towards the door, signaling them to leave.

Elisjah just smirked at me while Noah walked slowly to the door. He paused and looked back at me.

He put his finger—that had been inside me—into his mouth and licked it while maintaining eye contact.

“Sweeter than any dessert I’ve ever tasted.”

With that, he left.

I turned to Elisjah, blushing furiously, only to find him standing next to me.

He leaned down and kissed me lightly before leaving my room.

Oh, I’m going to regret this!
