CITY GIRL MEETS TEXAS RANCHER
Reporter Amy Madison had one week to interview honest-to-goodness Texas rancher Blue Bishop. Unfortunately, the ornery cowboy wasn't what she expected. At first, he seemed to resent her probing questions, then he began asking his own… and all involved marriage — and babies….
Blue had been searching for a wife when Amy arrived. Though she claimed she had it all as an independent career woman, Blue thought she needed the love of a good man. And he had less than a week to convince this unmarriage-minded lady he was the husband of her dreams!
Prologue
“My stars, look who’s come back to visit their Granny Bee. I’m mighty glad. to see you, I truly am.
“You bring yourself right on in here out of that rain, and sit by the nice fire I got goin’ in the hearth. Help yourself to some of the hot cider in the pitcher there. I put a dab of honey from my precious bees in it to make it special.
“Tell you a story? Well, I’ll just sit here rockin’ in my old chair and do exactly that…tell you a story.
“What’s that? Oh, you want to hear more ’bout the Bishop boys? Well, I did sort of hint the last time you came to call that things were ’bout to change in Blue Bishop’s life.
“Well, now you remember that all three of the Bishop brothers, Tux and the twins, Blue and Bram, were wantin’ to get themselves married and have a slew of babies.
“What they hadn’t figured on was that findin’ a wife would be hard, considerin’ women had been flocking after ’em like ducks to bread crumbs for years.
“Tux and Nancy, as you remember, after a lot of fussin’ and fumin’, up and got married. Oh, heavenly days, they are doin’ fine, just so happy they seem to glow.
“Jana-John and Abe, the Bishop boys’ mama and papa, are pleased as all get-out ’bout Tux and Nancy.
“Now, ’fore I go any further here with spinnin’ my tale ’bout what happened to Blue, I need to be tellin’ you some ’bout Amy Madison. She’s one of those reporter people for that big, important newspaper folks read with their mornin’ coffee. You know, the Houston Holler paper.
“Well, Amy’s got her mind firmly fixed on bein’ one of the best reporters in the state of Texas. That’s the only thing that matters a hoot to her, that job of hers…now and in the future to come. She doesn’t take time for another thing, it seems.
“No time at all…”
