Chapter 3

JACKSON

She was chewing on her bottom lip again. I gazed into her eyes for a few seconds and thought they were the most gorgeous green eyes I had ever seen.

I had forgotten how beautiful she was. There had been so many times I’d watched her from my bedroom window. She was totally unaware when she stood brushing her hair.

It was much shorter back then, and I remembered being quite mean to her a few times, pulling it as I teased her. When I was twelve, I stuck gum in it. She cried for so many days after, as she had to get it cut out.

Charlotte’s mother was not happy with me. With a thump from the front end and the snow falling heavily, I braked so slowly to a stop so I didn’t skid. I pulled on the handbrake.

Shit, I had taken my eyes off the road for that second, distracted by Charlotte.

“Oh my god, did we hit something?” Charlotte looked terrified.

“I don’t know?”

Reaching for my jacket, which was behind the seat, I got out of the car and shut the door. As I wandered around the truck, I couldn’t see anything, so I looked underneath.

There was nothing visible to see. The next minute Charlotte climbed out, this time being careful so she didn’t slip and fall.

“What is it?”

“I can’t see anything. “There were no tracks, but it was difficult to see anything in this weather. “Maybe it went off to the side?”

I rolled my eyes at her as she started walking back up the road, looking along the side of the road. I hurried close to her, half afraid she would slip and fall down the embankment.

There was no sign of anything. She turned around and knocked into me, making me slip backward.

I grabbed hold of Charlotte and took her down with me. I landed with a thud. “God, you are clumsy.”

She screwed up her face at me and flicked some snow with her hand into my face. “Am not.”

Lifting herself up off me, I didn’t give her a chance to escape and grabbed her, spinning her into the snow. “Oh, no, you don’t get away so easily, Miss Harris.”

She scrambled to get away from me as I tried to cover her with snow. She squealed at me as I trapped her under me and threatened her with a large handful of snow.

“Don’t you dare.” She glared at me.

A smirk grew across my lips. “Or what?”

Charlotte started chewing her lip again as she was looking at me, thinking. She licked her lips and god she turned me on.

She started to unzip my jacket, and heat flushed over my body. With a cheeky smile on her face, I glanced down at her hands and back up to her face.

Then she attacked me with tickles. I am very ticklish and I hated her as a child when she used to get me. I dropped the snow and laughed loudly before I fell on my back, begging her to stop.

“Stop, I won’t get you with the snow.”

“You promise?”

I was breathing heavily, still smiling as now I was enjoying it. She sat straddled over the top of me, resting her hands on my chest, smiling at her win.

The snow was still falling, and we had forgotten why we were out of the vehicle. I ran my hands up her legs to her ass.

She sucked in a sharp intake of air. “Jackson, what are you doing?”

Fuck, I want her so badly. I’m like a horny teenager all over again. I gazed into her eyes and watched her take a few more sharp breaths as I moved my hips under her.

She didn’t move, couldn’t move, as I had her captivated in my hands. “You have a gorgeous ass.” I kneaded her ass cheeks in my hands.

“Jackson.” She gasped. Her breathing, erratic.

My growing manhood ached in my pants for her. She was beautiful, and I hadn’t had sex in some time because of work with the Marines.

CHARLOTTE

A deep throbbing built up between my legs and I found myself extremely turned on. His chest heaved under my hands as we stared at each other.

Neither of us moved until a loud noise came from somewhere close by. I threw myself closer to Jackson.

“I’m sure that was a bear.”

“You could be right. Let’s get moving.”

Bears were out in the wild here, but tended not to wander so close to the roads. Jackson held out his hand after we got up, but I clung to him, slightly terrified.

I kept looking about as if the bear was going to jump out at us. He took my hand and helped me back into the truck.

He groaned as I climbed up. “Are you checking me out?” I blushed at my own words and started biting my lip again.

“Stop doing that.” Jackson went round to the driver’s side and hopped in. “I’m surprised you have a bottom lip left from the amount you chew it.”

“I get nervous.” Right now I am nervous about two things. But since we were back inside the truck, Jackson was the only thing making my heart race.

I started doing it again, and he pinched my bottom lip between his thumb and finger to stop me. “Stop it, or I’ll kiss you every time I see you biting it.” A smirk spread across his lips.

Every part of me flushed with heat. I was sure my cheeks were burning hot. He let my lip go, and I ran my tongue along it, wetting my now dry lips.

I remembered I had lip balm, and it was in my bag, so I reached over into the back. Jackson swore as I rummaged around to find it.

I was aware my ass was wiggling right next to Jackson. A hand came down and spanked my ass, making me squeal and jump. I banged my head on the roof.

“Ow.” I rubbed my head, then my ass. “What did you do that for?”

He raised an eyebrow at me. “You stuck your ass in my face. You’re lucky I didn’t bite it.”

I went to bite my lip and stopped myself. Jackson’s lips broke out into a smile. When I sat down, I rubbed the lip balm on and looked at him.

“Why haven’t you started the car yet?”

“Not demanding much, are we? Considering you were lucky, I just happened to be driving past after your car had broken down. Would you have walked the five kilometers or longer back in the snow?”

“Yes.” I quickly replied to him. I would have as well.

Smiling, he turned the key and started the engine. He patted the steering wheel as it roared to life. He caught me rolling my eyes at him.

As he drove, and the closer we got to home, I became more nervous about facing my parents. I caught him glancing over at me. Instead of chewing my lip, I fiddled with a ring on my finger, spinning it around.

Then I pulled out my lip balm and applied it to my lips.

“Why are you so nervous?” he asked.

I swallowed and looked at him through my eyelashes, then started biting my lip again. Jackson slowed down to a stop and engaged the handbrake.

“Why are you stopping?” I asked.

He unfastened his seatbelt and moved closer to me. Then he ran his thumb along my bottom lip, releasing it from the hold I had on it. “Do you remember what I told you?” His voice was husky, and desire filled his eyes.

My heart raced at the thought of him kissing me. So when he pressed his lips against mine, it was soft, but not what I’d call a kiss.

“Jackson Forbes, what do you call that?” I asked.

He furrowed his brow at me. “What do you mean?”

“If you say you are going to kiss me, then I expected something more than that.”

Surprise filled his face at my forwardness. Yes, I get nervous, and I talk at one hundred miles an hour, which was also part of my nervousness, but I’m not shy.

He raised an eyebrow at me. “I was being thoughtful. So what do you call a kiss then?”
